Chapter 6: Not thinking of You

All this while, Jumin had never thought of work as something to look forward to.

It was work.

If anything, the obvious aim was to help the company prosper.

The most one could look forward to was the daily cup of coffee he or she brewed before starting work.

That was work.

But now work was different.

It no longer started off as useless and dreadful mornings where Jumin would drag his feet to the office.

It now had something he could look forward to seeing there; Seven's letters.

Sure, you could call them notes.

But Jumin preferred to call them letters.

It gave him the idea that Seven took the time and effort to write it for him before sending it on its way.

It wasn't like a message.

Messages could be sent virtually, through mobile phones and whatnot.

But this was different.

This was something you could literally destroy, crumple or rip anytime for the sole reason that it was an actual piece of paper.

Sure, you could discard e-mails.

But you still have the trash folder.

Imagine spilling water on one of those precious little letters...

"Ah, come on..."

Jumin frantically pressed the lift button, determined to get to his office on time.

I wonder what's in today's letter...

Wait. What?

The man's eyes widened slightly.

-

When did I start waiting for his letters?

-

Jumin stepped into the office once again, another day of work.

Another day of waiting eagerly for one thing in the morning.

And there it is...!

The black-haired man's eyes focused on his assistant's hands as she entered his office.

"... You seem very eager, as usual."

Jumin averted his eyes.

"I am not."

Jaehee laughed softly, placing the note on her superior's table.

"Of course you aren't. I'll take my leave, then."

The usual bow and go.
