Chapter 27: Meant to be

Jumin slipped Seven's note into his glass jar.

He glanced back at the redhead that was now lying on his bed and sighed.

It was a get-to-know-each-other game, sure, but what on earth was the result of that?

What was with that, 'I would fling Yoosung off a building with a rope strapped to his leg'?!

Or 'I sometimes feel bored so I go to Yoosung's house and hide in the corners of it while spilling Phd Pepper in certain areas and then watch him fall'?!

I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be a Get-to-know-each-other session and not a Expose-your-sin session.

Thankfully I gave actual facts instead of actual sins of a deed.

The raven-haired man sighed once again before turning to face Seven.

"Well, we're dating now."

He began, unsure of where the conversation was leading.

"But we do have a couple of problems, don't we?"

He asked, hinting back to the redhead's phonecall with Vanderwood earlier.

Seven nodded.

"We agents aren't allowed to have relationships outside the agency."

He shrugged, a little saddened as he said it out loud.

"And frankly, I would have pushed you away, knowing this."

The redhead lowered his gaze, ashamed that he even harboured the thought before.

Jumin stood silent, before he took a step forward.

"But?"

He prompted.

Seven bit his lip.

"But... You're different. I think, even if I pushed you away, you wouldn't leave. You're the type of person who wouldn't do that."

He shifted into an awkward posture and the taller man nodded.

"You're right. No matter how much you try to shove me away, I won't leave."

Jumin stated simply.

Seven sighed.

"And plus, I don't like the idea of rebuilding a barrier between us again."

The redhead gave Jumin a small smile.

"I've been sending letters and making an effort to make you happy, and I even told you how I feel about you. After all this, how can I say that I can't be with you after all and then just... leave?"

The shorter boy scolded himself in a softer tone, almost inaudible to Jumin's ears.

"It sounds so heartless and contradictory to build the walls up after I've broken them down and return the problem like I wasn't even involved in the first place."

Seven grit his teeth, slightly angry at himself.

"So for this problem, I'm going to ignore it. Because anyway, there'll come a time when we'll have to fix it. Together."

He looked up at Jumin, who nodded and smiled back at him.

"You're right."

The taller man grinned.

"I don't think our feelings are coincidences.

I think they're meant to be."
