Chapter 17: See you Tomorrow

Seven nodded, face still fairly red.

"Yeah, I guess it's because you were my first kiss..."

He looked down shyly at his tablet, which was sitting on his lap.

My first kiss went to a guy...

The redhead stirred in his seat.

"Honestly, let's order our lunch already..."

He sighed, beckoning one of the waiters over to take their order.

Jumin had fried rice, which was unexpectedly simple for someone like him, and Seven had the same - except that it was egg fried rice, instead of seafood.

The shorter boy couldn't resist plugging his earpieces into his phone, before slowly untangling the long wires of the object.

"Care for a listen?"

He asked the taller man with a smile.

Jumin smiled back, taking one of the earpieces into his grasp.

"Sure."

He said, waiting as the redhead in front of him scrolled through song after song.

Seven looked up after a while.

"What about this one?"

He offered, playing the piece after he spoke.

"It's called, 'See you tomorrow.' "

He smiled at Jumin, who smiled back at him, and they both gazed out of the café's window, drawn by the standstill the world was brought into just as the quiet music began to play.

The soothing, light voice of the singer brought back memories of their childhood, both good and bad.

Sad smiles came over their faces.

Nothing could aid the loneliness present in both of their hearts...

Besides, perhaps,

Each other.

And maybe, in that sense, the world did come to a standstill.

Waiting for the two of them to stop doubting their feelings for each other-

-and maybe Yoosung, if he knew, would say-

- Realize it already!

But, as dense as both of them were, and as dense as dense could go, the world... might have needed to wait a little longer.

They weren't all that ready yet.

And anyway-

- if Any one of them was going to fall for the other,

He was going to fall.

And he was going to fall Hard.

That's how love is.

It's never all that simple, although it may seem so on the outside.

But perhaps Jumin was at least not as dense as Seven-

- Because as the music played,

In his eyes, the redhead in front of him seemed to be outlined with a layer of sunlight...

... drawing his attention and his heart altogether, enchanted by the beautiful boy sitting in front of him, innocent and even angelic.

Jumin felt his face heat up.

Oh, man...

I think I just got shot through the heart by an arrow of light.
