*7 months later, 5 months before the royal wedding Mal and Ben are sat down trying to plan some of the remaining details*
Ben: so babe....
Mal: why do I think I'm not going to like whatever you say next
Ben: because you probably won't but I'm gonna hope you'll just go with it
Mal: what.....?
Ben: Auradon News wants to do a piece about the wedding....
Mal: yes........?
Ben: and do an interview with you
Mal: which way to say no should I start with first? Shall I start with a simple no? Or something more exciting like you have a zero percent chance of getting me to do that
Ben: Mal, you know this is going to be a part of your job in 5 months right?
Mal: I know but Ben you know I hate talking to people, my job as a queen is to stand behind you or by your side or whatever, look cute, agree with what you say and give the kingdom an heir, that's what I have to do, not an interview for some puff piece on our wedding which hasn't even happened yet
Ben: baby please
Mal: alright fine, but you owe me big time
Ben: because I don't already?
Mal: true

*the next day Mal has been dressed up and madeup with her hair done like the prissy princesses she'd always hated and was now set in the palace press room on the couch with Ben stood behind her as they waited for the Snow White who was doing the interview to arrive*

Ben: thank you for this
Mal: you bet your ass that thanks are in order
*just then Snow White arrives*
Ben: okay I gotta go to a council meeting babe, I'll see you later okay?
Mal: yeah
*he leans forward to kiss her then leaves as Snow White sits down opposite Mal, literally oozing excitement, the second the camera was running she was off*
(SW = Snow White but I'm lazy so deal with it 😂😂)
SW: you two are literally the cutest ever!
*Mal took her deep breath and tried to channel what she'd seen from Audrey and other princesses like her as best she could*
Mal: well I'm sure you and your dear prince would be able to argue with that
SW: maybe but you two are just adorable
Mal: Thank you
SW: so let's talk, first let's get to know you a little
Mal: okayyyy
SW: don't worry, nothing too deep
Mal: that's good
*after a while she came to some more interesting questions*
SW: so what's the weirdest rumour you've heard about yourself in your time here in Auradon?
Mal: the weirdest? Oh umm, oh I've heard a lot of strange ones, a pretty weird one was someone saying I used to have wings but they were like cut off or something, I'm not even sure I don't think it was very well thought through
*they both start laughing*
SW: that's really weird
Mal: you don't say
SW: what about to do with your relationship?
Mal: well I'm not sure that it's necessarily weird but it was pretty laughable, just after we got engaged I heard so many rumours go around that I was pregnant and that's why everything was happening so hurriedly, they were all trying to spot a baby bump I didn't have because there was no baby, that's actually genuinely one of the reasons why I picked a date that left this is a fairly long engagement, obviously there were other reasons but yeah
*they both laugh again at the weird story*
SW: but that's just impossible, I mean you're so tiny, there's nothing for anyone to mistake for a baby bump
Mal: thank you but apparently there must be
SW: moving onto the wedding, how much of the planning is done?
Mal: pretty much all of it
SW: and how much of it was you and how much was King Ben?
Mal: most of it was me with Evie's help because Ben said that it was my day to do with as I wished but he said he do what I needed him to do and help out as much as I needed him to
SW: that's sweet
Mal: yeah, we're getting there
SW: and your ring is so cute
Mal: it's perfect for me, not too big but not too small
SW: and the purple
Mal: I think he was hoping that would convince me into a yes if I wasn't so sure
*they laugh at her joke and Mal finds herself feeling quite in her element, reassuring her that she was prepared for what was to come, but she still had a few obstacles to overcome first.....*
