Valentines day

*6 months later they find themselves at Valentine's Day, she wakes up to find him gone and a note stuck to her forehead which she didn't appreciate*
Mal: 'Mal, sorry I had to leave so early, council meetings and then a load of work to do, I'm super sorry I've been so busy all week, I might be late back tonight but I'll try and be here before you go to sleep, if I'm not you might want to stay in your room so I don't wake you up, Ben xo'
Mal: arguhhhh, seriously all day?! It's Valentine's Day for crying out loud, does he even remember that
*she gets up and gets dressed in casual purple jeans and a t-shirt, tied her hair up into a bun and went to go for breakfast, looked like this Valentine's Day was gonna suck for her*

*that evening*

Mal: Evie he completely forgot Valentine's Day! Like seriously?! The most romantic day of the year and he just forgets?! The next time we have Valentine's Day it will be exactly a week until our wedding how can he have forgotten?!
Evie: I have no idea, I can't believe he'd just forget, what did he say exactly?
Mal: he didn't SAY anything! He left me a note...on my head! Apparently he's busy working all day and hopefully he'll be back before I go to bed, he literally said if he's not I should sleep in my own room so I don't get woken up I mean it's sweet sorta but it's messed up!
Evie: yeah M you're ranting
Mal: but I'll bet Doug didn't forget Valentine's Day!
Evie: it is the first one since our wedding so no
Mal: I swear to god
Evie: M you're his fiancée, as his future queen you're allowed to go steal him from his work I'm sure belle pulled beast away from his work when he got too stuck in
Mal: I can't just waltz straight into his study and have a go at him for not spending time with me I'll sound like Audrey did when she was with him
Evie: true, don't go in like that then, be discreet
Mal: discreet? Yeah okay that's a good idea, I can do that, bye E
Evie: bye M, good luck
*she marched towards Ben's study and knocked before entering to find him sat at his desk working*
Ben: Mal? Baby? You okay? What's up?
Mal: you forgot Valentine's Day that's what's up!
*okay so maybe playing it cool wasn't her thing*
Ben: what no I didn't
Mal: umm yeah, it's today and you've been working all day!
Ben: Mal what I wrote on that note was a joke, I was gonna come and get you in like half an hour when it was properly dark outside, but if you wanna go now then we can go now
*he stands up and takes her hand, he begins to lead her towards the doors that lead to the gardens, still stunned Mal follows in silence*
Ben: here
*they arrive at a beautifully decorated little gazebo that Mal had never seen before, by saying that she been in the castle for over 2 years and still hadn't seen the majority of the place, it had been set up with blankets and pillows and there were twinkle lights everywhere*
Mal: it's beautiful, I'm sorry I doubted you
Ben: you thought I'd ever forget something important like Valentine's Day
Mal: I don't know, it seemed kinda like it
Ben: Mal I know you're worried but I'm completely committed to you, you will always be the things that comes first to me
Mal: one year and a week
Ben: I couldn't convince you to pull it forwards I don know like a year could I?
*she chuckles and rolls her eyes*
Mal: nope, I'm not even close to ready, God Ben don't you know how much time girls need to plan a wedding, wow
Ben: okay okay, moving on happy Valentine's Day
Mal: to you too
