Bal: a King and his queen

Graduaton day

*6 months later it's graduation and some of them are more ready to leave than others, most of them are really excited but Mal is particularly nervous, she knows what's coming for her after high school, she was excited for her future with Ben and that would never change but she wasn't ready for all the responsibilities they were trying to force on her and after their talk at Christmas she was slightly nervous about when this future with Ben was going to be starting, she knew she would say yes if he asked she was just extremely nervous, the attention didn't agree with her, that morning they had all gotten ready Evie had gone wandering off to find Doug, they had decided to get a place together in Auradon city because Evie wanted to go to fashion school and Doug to college in the city, Mal had hesitantly agreed to come and live in the castle with Ben even though she had originally planned to get an apartment with Evie but then things happened with Doug and Ben pulled a pouty face and she'd said yes, there was a knock on her door and presuming it was Evie having come back for her robes but then having realised that she took her cap and gown was confused, she opened the door to find Ben stood outside with his*
Ben: come with me
*she grabbed her cap and gown and followed him out to the gardens*
Mal: Ben what are you doing?
Ben: don't get take this the wrong way and go completely insane okay?
Mal: uhhhh
Ben: this isn't what you think it is so before you freak out which I know you will let me completely explain
Mal: okayyyy
*he hands her a little ring box and she's about to completely freak out as he anticipated so he quickly explains*
Ben: I'm not proposing, not yet, your not ready I know that and that fine this is a promise ring okay?
Mal: a w..what?
*her tension level slowly dropping*
Ben: a promise ring, it's us making a promise that we are going to stay together
Mal: I don't need a ring for that though, you know that
Ben: I guess I'm just doing my version of marking my territory the
Mal: I'm okay with that
*she opens the box to find a smaller and girlier version of Ben's beast head ring with with a few gems either side of the beast head, she smiles as he takes her hand and puts it on her*
Mal: I promise I'll never take off
Ben: you will one day
Mal: I won't
Ben: you will, the day I put a more significant one on there
Mal: we'd better go mr valedictorian
Ben: okay
*they take hands and head towards the assembly hall*
Ben: are you going to take the scholarship to art school?
Mal: I think I'll be a little too busy don't you?
Ben: maybe
Mal: being the queen to be to be ha some responsibilities you so
Ben: I suppose that's what you are now isn't it
Mal: yep
Ben: you okay with that?
Mal: the thought petrified me
Ben: oh
Mal: it DID, I've got you with me, doing it together right?
Ben: every step of the way
Mal: then I think I can do it if it's together
Ben: really?
Mal: yeah
Ben: cap and gown on and let's do this
Mal: okay
Ben: we'd better use this as practice
Mal: for what?
Ben: well have you ever walked down an aisle before
Mal: yeah but a different kind of idle
Ben: haha
Mal: you ready for your speech?
Ben: yeah
Evie: hey guys
Mal: E! Hey!
Evie: you ready to graduate?
Mal: I don't know, I'm gonna miss this place
Ben: I think we all are
*evie spots the ring and internally gasps, she drags Mal away excitedly*
Evie: oh my god did he...?!
Mal: wha...oh no, promise ring we're not engaged
Evie: what are you waiting for?!
Mal: Evie I'm not ready!
Evie: yes you are, you just have yourself convinced you're not, Doug's talking about getting me a ring and our relationship isn't even where you guys are at yet, come on M you're ready, you'll be an amazing queen
Mal: I have no idea how to be a queen, I wasn't raised as royalty, you were, how did I get myself here?
Evie: you fell in love with the King of Auradon that's how
Mal: why did you let me do that?
Evie: because by the time I realised that you weren't just acting anymore...because you weren't just acting anymore
Mal: true
Evie: he will ask you soon we all know it, and when he does what will your answer be?
Mal: yes
Evie: they you're engaged for s while and then you're married and be crowns you his queen it's not a really hard task
Mal: there's so much pressure though, so much I have to do, I have to get right
Evie: and you will
Mal: you'll always be the one who makes my clothes right?
Evie: they have a guys for that
Mal: I don't care, I want you
Evie: then it'll be me
Mal: when that day comes and I do have to be crowned the queen of Auradon be there with me?
Evie: of course I'll be there, I'm not missing my best friends wedding
Mal: no you don't get it, I'm asking you now so I don't have to think about it again, be my maid of honour, help me with a wedding because Ben will just say whatever I want and what I want it to have the tiniest wedding possible
Evie: of course I will
Mal: do you know what I want?
Evie: I think I can figure it out
Mal: I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be talking about my wedding at 18
Evie: be realistic, you never thought you'd be talking about a wedding in general ever let alone your own
Mal: good point
Evie: we'll always be best friends right?
Mal: always and forever
Evie: oh that's our cue, you ready to get that diploma?
Mal: yes and then run off the stage as fast as I can
Evie: no you have to stand and wait for Ben to get his, it's in pairs
Mal: but he's gotta give a huge speech
Evie: and you've got to do what any good queen does for her King, stand, listen intently, keep the attention on him and support him
Mal: you do too, they're joint valedictorians
Evie: and I will do the same thing but as a princess instead of a queen
Mal: ohh E it's you and Doug, go get that diploma girl
Evie: I'll see you up there
Mal: okay
*she watches as Doug and Evie head in and go up as their names are called, Evie stands there looking perfect as always while Doug makes one one the most well prepared speeches sleeve given, finally they stand back with the rest of their class and it's time for Mal and Ben to walk those halls for a final time*
Ben: you ready?
Mal: I guess I am
*they link arms and walk past all the families and friends of the graduates, belle and beast were in the front row*
Fairy godmother: Mal
*mal smiles at fairy godmother and gets a quick kiss for Ben before walking up the steps to fairy godmother*
Fairy godmother: well done Mal, you've graduated
Mal: it's a miracle
*they both chuckle before Mal steps out of the way a little*
Fairy godmother: Benjamin
*ben walked up onto the stage and shook her hand, he took the diploma and then stood at the podium and gave his speech, Mal did as Evie had said and it was soon over, they took with places with the rest of their class and that was it*
Fairy godmother: this was truly one of the best groups of students I've taken on in the twenty years I've been headmistress of this school, so it is my honour and my joy to present you with Auradon Prep's class of 2017
*lots of whooping and cheering and whistling and yelling and hugging and hat throwing and kissing starts happening around them, Mal and Ben let out laughs as he picks her up and spins her round, once he's put her down he gives her a long and slow kiss until she becomes aware that everyone has started watching them at which point she breaks it up*
Mal: we're not alone
Ben: I really don't care
*he goes back in and she kisses back, everyone cheers and then goes back to celebrating their graduation*
