I took a quick shower and pulled on gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt. Melody was waiting for me. She was reading a book from my book shelf. I peeked at the title. Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. I smiled. I loved those books. Melody looked up.

"This is a really good book. Can I borrow it?" She asked. I shook my head yes. She placed it next to her backpack.

"Let's go make cookies." Melody said. "I brought milk from home. Butter too." I smiled. She knows me too well. Melody's dad was sitting in the kitchen.

"Kyle!" He said surprised. "I brought some eggs with me from the farm. I'll make some for you two right now."

"Dad can we make some cookies?" Melody asked.

"Sure, but I want you both to have some breakfast first." Melody's dad said. Melody's dad made some eggs.

"Kyle don't eat too much at once, you haven't eaten for a few days. You're body won't be used to so much food all at once." Melody's dad said. I ate little by little. I could barley finish one egg. I felt like throwing up. I pushed my play away and shook my head.

"Too much?" Melody's dad asked. I shook my head. I waited for Melody to finish eating. Then we started on the cookie baking. Who know if I could even eat any, but they were fun to make and that's all that mattered at this point.

We baked cookies the whole day. Batch after batch. Almost all our plates were filled with cookies. Piles and piles of cookies. We used all the eggs, milk, flour, chocolate, everything. We made cookies until we ran out of ingredients.

We didn't just stick to one kind of cookies. We made chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, Christmas cookies and more. We even made our own kind of cookies, named De La Melody and Kyle. Melody came up with the name. They didn't taste bad, not at all.

We were having so much fun. Laughing the whole time. We had flour all over us.

Alice walked into the room with Max a few hours later. They seemed very surprised. Melody and I rushed at them with cookies.

"We made cookies!" Melody said happily. Each plate had its own label of what type of cookies there were.

"We have five plates of chocolate chip cookies. About 60 cookies right there. Three plates of snickerdoodles, 36 cookies. About. And about four places of Christmas cookies. Sprinkles and all, 48 cookies. And six plates of De La Melody and Kyle." Melody said pointing to each plate.

"De La, what?" Max asked.

"De La Melody and Kyle." Melody said. "It's our own recipe." Max and Alice each took one of those cookies.

"These are really good." Max said.

"They are." Alice agreed. Melody and I highfived.

"Mission accomplished." Melody said. We went with a plate of cookies to Melody's dad, who was in the living room. I started going back to the kitchen to grab napkins.

"I told you he would get up Alice. It's because of Melody. Those two they have a kind of friendship you don't find everywhere." Max said. I wasn't in view yet, but I took a step back. I looked into the next room and saw Melody.

Yeah. I guess you could say we have a special friendship.

Author's Note

*takes a deep breath* How was it? Did this chapter stink? Does it need work? Or is it going good?

Also, do I need to add more of a twist to this book? Or nah. Jaxton isn't gone yet. And there's more. But I'm just wondering. Please keep sending in messages, or commenting is fine.
