Kingdom

"Do you see them Kyle?" Melody whispered. I shook my head.

"They have no leaders to lead them." Melody said. I pointed to her and then the woods.

"Not just me Kyle, you have to help rule them too." Melody said. I didn't do anything for a moment, before shaking my head yes.

"Let's go! We have a kingdom to claim!" Melody declared. We stumbled down the river bank, 'till we reached the river. I pointed to the rocks nearby. We lifted them and dragged them into the water. Making a pathway. In the process, our jeans still got soaked. We crossed the river and jumped on the other side.

"We made it!" Melody shouted to no one. "We are at the Kingdom of-" Melody stopped her little speech to our new kingdom. "What are we naming our kingdom?" She whispered. I took a stick from the floor and knelt down. I think that stick new the name before I did. I formed the small letters carefully.

"Ibaleterm." Melody read. She stood up once more.

"Hello to the Kingdom of Ibaleterm! I am Melody and this is Kyle," she said pointing to me. "and we are the new rulers of Ibaleterm!" She shouted. She grabbed my wrist and dragged me deeper in the forest.

"Come on Kyle. We have to go meet our new subjects." Melody said. After we met everyone, we started to plan.

"Alright. Now we need to start planing how our town will look like." Melody declared. "We are going to have to start building our town soon. After we draw everything out too. We need to make everything perfect. We need paper." Melody said. We ran back to the house and grabbed paper and pens.

"Alright we need a place for all our subjects. The unicorns, and the pegasus. The elves too. Fairies and dragons too." Melody said. We spent the rest of the day drawing out how our kingdom was to look.

"Kyle! Melody! Where are you two! Melody's dad is here to pick her up!" Alice shouted. Melody and I gathered our papers and hid them in my coat. We ran into the house. Melody claimed that she left something in my room, and we ran into my room to hid the papers.

"Geez your room is clean." Melody said. "Cleaner than any other boys room I've seen." Well, I don't have too much, I thought. We found a box and hid it in there, and stuffed it under my bed.

"You can't bring it to school. Never, someone may find it." Melody said. I shook my head yes.

"I have to go now." Melody said as we walked to the front door. "Maybe during the week you can come over to my farm and Friday's at Ibalterm." Melody said. I shook my head yes again. Alice and Melody's dad were talking away.

"Ah, you must be the famous Kyle." Melody's dad said. Melody's face turned red, but I didn't know why. I shook my head yes. "Nice to meet you. I'm Chris. Melody's dad." Melody's dad said. We shook hands. That's new, I thought.

"Umm dad, I was wondering if Kyle could come over once a week. We have a personal project we're working on and we want to meet up two times a week after school." Melody said.

"Yeah sure. I think Wednesday would be fine." Melody's dad said.

"And on Friday's Melody can come over." Alice said looking at me. I shook my head. I'm glad we're on the same page.

"Alright then. I'll see you on Wednesday Kyle." Melody's dad said.

"Bye Kyle, see you at school." Melody said. I waved goodbye. They hoped in the car and drove down the road, leaving a dusty trail behind.

"I'm glad you are friends with Melody. She's a good kid, I like her." Alice said. We walked into the kitchen. I looked at the oven wishing we had more brownies.

"You want to make brownies?" Alice asked. She knows me too well. I smiled and shook my head. Forget homework, I've got brownies to make and eat.
