All that beautiful food. Best part was that a whole ton of butter was on the table.
We all gathered around the table. There was: Melody's dad, Melody's mom, Mina, Melody, Zach, Kelley, Albert, Rose, Jack, Jake, Jazzy, Lidia, Alice, me, Max's mom, Max's dad, Max, and Max's sister Krisi. 18. 18 people. That's a lot.
"Let's pray." Melody's dad said. We all stood up. "Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for this beautiful day that we can spend with friends and family. Thank you for the wonderful food you have placed on this table and for the beautiful presents we have all given and received. Thank you for everything. In your Heavenly name we pray. Amen."
"Amen." We all repeated.
Mashed potatoes, beans, chicken, salad, vegetables, noodle soup, and turkey. This only as the main dishes. Sides were all over the place too, including butter. I had thought turkey was for thanksgiving, but I guess not. I stuffed my plate. Melody didn't put any meat on her plate. I pointed to the turkey.
"Nope, I don't eat meat." Melody said. My jaw dropped.
"I just can't. I feel too bad for the animals." Melody added. I shrugged and put salt on my turkey. Turkey tastes good and I don't have it a lot.
We ate the food together. Everyone talking and laughing. About an hour later the table had all been cleared out. Everyone was back into the living room.
"Kyle come over here." Alice called. I had been playing a card game with Melody, Mina and Zach. I put down my cards and hurried off to Alice.
"This is Kyle, my brother." Alice said, placing her hands on my shoulders.
"Hello Kyle," the lady said. "I'm Max's mother, Alana." I smiled at her. Another man walked up.
"Hello, you must be Kyle." The man said. I shook my head. "I'm Max's father Stephan." He held his hand out and I shook it. "We have heard so much about you." I smiled and they small talked for a bit. A few minutes later I waved goodbye and went back to my card game.
We stayed there until 2:00 AM. The second Alice pulled me into the car and I sat in the seat, I fell asleep.
