Chapter Fifteen

ASHTON POV
**4pm, May 13th**
He has yet to let go of my arm and that makes me so happy. I wanna kiss his cheek, but we're in the middle of Rue 21. Luke lets go with one hand, but keeps his other hand on my arm. I watch him look through a rack of shirts. Finding nothing of interest he returns to my arm. I glance around, and then back to him.
"Can I kiss your cheek?" I ask quietly. He turns his head to look at me, and then looks around. He timidly nods, and I kiss his cheek. He blushes, and then goes back to looking at clothes. I see a cool shirt, but don't want to make him move so I can look.
"Hey baby hold on a sec." I say to him. He looks at me and nods. I turn us to face the shirts, and use my free hand to move the shirts apart.
"That's a cool shirt." Luke says.
"Yeah, it's too small and it's the only one." I say. Luke lets my arm go with one hand again, and looks at the shirt with me. It's a black shirt with a blue rose with grey leaves. It's cool, but too small for me.
"Lets keep looking." I say.
"It's my size." Luke says, looking over at me.
"Ok?" I ask. He rolls his eyes.
"It's too small for you. I could get it a wear it though, and you can look at your pretty shirt and look at me, two in one deal." He says. Now I roll my eyes because of his ego.
"I will give you that you're smart, if you like it you can get it." I say. He grabs it off the rack, and holds it out for me. I take it, and let him hold my arm again. We slowly make our way through the racks of clothes.
"This was nice, we should do this more often, but next time hit Hot Topic and Spencer's." Luke says to me.
"Spencer's?" I ask.
"Yeah, there's some stuff I want to get." He blushes.
"That's fine, and I liked this too." I say. I pay for his shirt, despite his protests, and we leave. Luke does get a little unnerved when we are out on the streets. Instead of pulling away though, he holds on tighter.
"Hey, chill, what did I say earlier?" I ask him.
"You've got my back." He looks over at me.
"Exactly, so don't be scared baby, I won't let anyone hurt you." I say. He blushes, and lowers his head a little. I stop walking, and make him face me better.
"Ever, I promise." I say to him, lifting his chin with my free hand.
"I know." He says. I lean in and kiss his lips lightly.
"Don't kiss me in public please." Luke says quietly. I sigh.
"Sure thing baby." I say.
I drop my hand to my side, and we continue walking back. He lets go of my arm with one hand, and holds on by my elbow. He hooks his thumb in his pocket and stares at the ground while we walk. I hate that his fear puts stress on us. I know eventually he will get past this fear though, so it's worth it. I want him to be happy, not uncomfortable. We nod to security guarding the bus area behind the stadium as we walk in.
"Lets go to my bus." Luke lifts his head. He's crying. He is not allowed to cry. I lead us to his bus, and the moment the door closes I have him in a hug. Surprisingly he was in my arms that fast too.
"Feelings are stupid." He says into me. I gently rub his back, and rock us back and forth.
"I agree, but we have to live with them." I say.
