Chapter Sixteen

***

LUKE POV

**9pm, May 13th**

"Hey Luke, you want to introduce this next song?" Ashton asks me from his drums.

"What? Oh yes I would very much like to." I say.

"The floor is yours." Ash says, sending me a look.

"Hey guys, so you may or may not know this song, but it's about how to get home. Can you guys tell me which way to go?" I ask the crowd.

"The Long Way Home!" They shout.

"You guys are good, here's Long Way Home!" I announce. They scream with joy as I start playing the guitar to it.

The song goes smoothly, and we all have fun for the rest of the concert. The entire time my mind is elsewhere. One thing being Niall watching from the VIP section and flirting with our fans. The second thing being that I still think someone definitely saw Ash and I. The third thing being really stupid. Really stupid. Since Ash and I have told the rest of the band I've been more worried. Like, super worried. I don't know what I'd do if someone found out.

An hour later I knock my mic stand over between songs when I go to grab some water and then miss it completely when I try to catch it. I wince when it hits the ground, and feel my face turn bright red. I pick up my mic stand and keep smiling.

"I'm such a klutz, I know guys." I chuckle to the crowd.

I get my water and drink it now. I'm shaking so bad I spill my water on myself. Tonight is not my night. I wipe it off the best I can and set my water down. Cal sends me a look, asking if I'm ok. I nod even though I'm not. I'm freaking out, definitely not ok.

"Luke it's your turn again." Ash reminds me.

"One of you guys do it." I say. They all look at me strangely. Shit, shit, shit. I forgot all about my act.

"It's called sarcasm guys, thought you'd be used to it by now." I roll my eyes at them. They relax a bit, seeing as how I returned to "normal".

"The next song of the night is a little song about girls." I say into my mic.

"What type of girls?" Michael asks me.

"The best type of girls." I flash him a grin. We start playing Good Girls and the fans go nuts.

The further the concert progresses the worse my shaking gets. It gets to the point where I can't let go of my guitar or I'll never get back to the strings. We finally hit the two thirds mark where we go get more water. The moment we are clear of eyes Ashton pulls me away.

"You are freaking out." He says to me.

"I've noticed, look." I say, making him look at my shaking hands.

"Why? What's wrong?" He asks me.

"Everything! Nothing! I don't know! That's why I'm freaking out! Ash, I forgot my act, how could I forget my act?" I ask him frantically.

"Stop, ok, calm down. There isn't that much of the concert left, maybe once you get some sleep you'll feel better." He says to me.

"Are you two ok?" Calum asks us.

"Yes." Ashton answers.

"I'm not!" I raise my hand.

"You guys gotta get back out there." Someone says to us.

"Babe, come on." Ash grabs my hand. I pull it back harshly.

"Don't touch me." I say.

"Luke-"
