Chapter Six

***

ASHTON POV

**7am, May 9th**

"Penguin." I whisper into Luke's ear. It's about time we head inside for soundcheck.

"Mm, what?" He asks.

"We have to get to soundcheck." I say. He groans.

"Fine... Get out then." He says. I lightly kiss his lips, and then leave the bedroom. I leave the bus, and go into the stadium. I make my way to the dressing room, where I find Calum and Michael.

"Is his royal highness with you again?" Calum asks.

"No, he's just waking up." I say.

"Good." Michael says. I roll my eyes.

"You guys overreact." I say.

"No, we don't. He is a grade A douchebag and I don't want to deal with him." Michael says.

"Yeah, same." Cal says.

"Just ignore him, he doesn't do anything to you." I say.

"He treats you like shit! That totally affects us because you're our friend." Michael says.

"He isn't that bad." I say.

"Morning losers, ready for soundcheck? Good, get onstage and be ready." Luke appears in the doorway. He leaves just as quickly as he appeared.

"See, a douchebag." Michael says. They get up, and we head over to the stage.

"Hurry up, I have better things to do than waste my time doing this." Luke says as we walk on. Guess he's gonna act like a total dick today. Michael is gonna bitch nonstop now.

"Well we don't wanna be here with you either." Michael says.

"Please Michael." Luke rolls his eyes. Michael clearly wants to beat Luke over the head with his guitar.

"Michael, just chill and get ready." I say. Michael just continues glaring at Luke.

"We're starting with Catch Fire." Luke says.

Soundcheck is going surprisingly well for a good thirty minutes. Like always though shit has to hit the fan. Normally Luke will bitch at me for something I didn't do, but not this time. No, this time he's bitching at Michael. Normally I wouldn't stand for this, but Michael is actually fucking up. He's so pissed at Luke that he's fucking up.

"Michael, are you fucking retarded? Do you know how to play guitar? Do I have to fucking teach you how to play the song you wrote?" Luke asks Michael. Michael just glares at Luke really hard. I carefully stand up and put my drumsticks down. Luke walks closer to Michael.

"Are you listening or not? Do you know how to play it or not?" Luke asks Michael.

I notice Michael hold his guitar really tightly from the neck. Oh no. The one time he isn't using a guitar strap. He pulls his guitar back to swing it at Luke, and I run over as fast as I can. Either I push Michael off the stage or get hit instead. I can't push Michael off the stage, he's fallen off before and ow. I shove Luke out of the way, but of course he nearly falls off the stage so I have to grab him. Also of course Michael hits me instead, and holy hell I should have let Luke fall because I think Michael just broke my arm.

"Michael!" Calum yells at him. Luke grabs me when I stumble. I hug my arm to my chest, tears of physical pain welling up in my eyes. Michael remains silent, not sure what to do.

"Ash are you ok? Let me see your arm." Luke says. I shake my head.

"Ash let me see your arm." He says. He gently pulls my arm out, and examines it.
