*Aurora's POV*

I emerged from my room the next morning, and went into the kitchen, although I wasn't hungry- I couldn't feel hunger anymore.

"Good Morning, Sleeping Beauty." Zayn greeted me with a half-hearted chortle. I drew a taut smile, and muttered a dry 'Morning'.

He sat down at the table, and it was at this time, I realized George was missing.

"George is in his room." Zayn answered me (even though I never really asked), and pushed a bowl of cornmeal porridge in front of me. I smiled gratefully, and picked up a spoon to start eating.

"I'm sorry about what's happening." Zayn started, "I really am."

I sighed, knowing he was sorry- I could feel it. He didn't have to tell me.

Tomorrow, at about two a.m, my parents would be dead, and there's nothing I can do about it.

"Try not to think about it too much, yeah?"

I don't think he fully understands how I feel.

"It's hard not to think about it, when you're about to lose something very precious, and you can't replace it." I went back to eating the porridge.

After that, he was silent, and so was I.

I went back to my room to clean myself up.

*Zayn's POV*

Today, I was planning to go to the Council, tell them what my plan is, and pick up some blood. I didn't really want to have to coax Aurora to come with me, so I'm going to just leave her here with George, and pray that she doesn't go completely insane.

I went up to her bedroom, and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

When I went in, and she was seated on her bed, scrolling through pictures on her phone. The room was tidy, and her bed was made.

"I'm going to look about some business today."

She perked up, resembling a young otter.

"Do you want to come?" She was leading me into a state of complete quandary. Wasn't she just depressed a while ago?

She nodded vigorously.

"Umm, okay." I turned back around, "Let's go."

I went to George's room, and told him to put some shoes on. Everything went along smoothly and quietly.................which is not the way it's supposed to be.

Even the car ride was quiet.

She just stared out the car window, and George was sound asleep- which didn't even make any sense.

I went into the Council, and they approved of my plans, but they needed me to make haste. They were going into battle soon, and she would be of good use to them.

They also told me that the other clan is trying to recruit her. I guess that's why that guy was at the beach- he was about to kidnap her.

Anyways, after I went to the Council, I drove by the hospital for some food. I told Liam to meet me at the back, and when I arrived, he was already there.

"Hey, mate. Thanks so much." He handed over the goods, but averted his eyes to the vehicle.

"I heard about everything. Is she okay?"

Wow, what a smart question. If I had just met him, I wouldn't have even thought for a second that he was the smartest vampire in the clan.

"Of course not." I sighed. It really does get boring when she's not around. There's no one to annoy me to the point of suicide. As bad as that sounds, it was prime entertainment for me. I especially liked when she would ask me stupid questions, or when she would randomly tell me dumb jokes and riddles. All that came to a stop when she had that nightmare. She became quiet, and she barely spoke to me.

"Listen, don't tell Kayla, yeah?" I leaned in a little bit more, "She probably already knows, but don't bring it up."

With that, I said goodbye to my friend, and took Aurora and George back home.
