"Ow! Leslie, be careful!"
"Sorry, that pin slipped."
Leslie is helping me to get ready for the first time travel on our plan. I'm going back to the soiree, which I think is going to be safe, because I didn't see myself in there couple days ago. Right now Leslie is helping me with the wig. And she is horrible with the bobby pins. Every and each one of them is drilling like crazy to my scalp. Well, at least the wig won't fall off.
"You're done!", Leslie says. "That was the last pin."
I sigh. Out of relief or worry for the future, I don't know.
"Don't worry, the hardest part is already behind", Leslie tries to encourage me.
I side glance at her.
"Well, you trying to get in to that dress looked quite hard", Leslie lifts her shoulders.
"Thank you", I mumble sarcastically. I look myself in the mirror. If Leslie isn't good with the bobby pins then she definitely is the best with make up. Maybe it's because she's in drama club in school.
"The chronograf is ready", Leslie says behind my back. "But are you ready?"
I look the chronograf in the mirror. It's sitting on my bed, packed in a black sports bag, which was the only bag that we could find that was big enough. It's a shame that it belongs to Charlotte. If we somehow manage to brake it, Charlotte will kill us.
"Yeah, sure."

We are in Saint Lennox , actually in one of it's toilets. We used the cleaner's door which is always open to get inside, and decided to elapse from the toilet because it could've been awkward to just appear in the middle of the school's hall, while everyone else are dancing or whatever they used to do in that hall at the soiree.
"The chronograf is set on time", Leslie says, "so... whenever you're ready."
"See you after forty five minutes", I say. Hopefully I will get even some information in that time. I put my finger in the chronograf and look Leslie one last time. Her brown eyes are full of thoughts. I'm happy I got a friend like her who would stay in school for forty five minutes doing nothing.
"See you in 2700 seconds", Leslie says. I smile at her, that's so typical of Leslie.
I blink my eyes, and when I open them again Leslie is gone, and the bathroom has changed into a cold room build from stone without any proper light. It smells moist and dusty, and I can almost see the little spiders running on the floor with their eight legs. There is a torch on the wall giving a light shimmer to the room. I take it and walk to the door. I press my ear to it, trying to listen for some voices that would come from the other side of the door. I hear nothing.
I open the door and recognize it is one of the heaviest doors I've ever tried to open. I hear the classical music playing upstairs. I look up and see a staircase and two beautiful crystal chandeliers.
I look around and recognize that I'm quite near the room where Gideon was forced to elapse. I walk quickly, almost run to the right direction. Torches on the wall go past me as my shoes make a voice that echoes from the walls as I go forward the hallway. I'm just thinking about turning from the next corner when I hear two voices, echoing from about 15 meters.
"I'm only asking you to make a small favor for me."
"Small? You have a very odd understanding of size."
The count and Gideon, clearly.
I start moving before my brain has accepted the plan I'm going for. I slide from the corner and run to the door through which Gideon and the count are about to step in a couple of seconds.
"Did you hear anything? Is there someone here?", the count asks.
I don't hear Gideon's answer. He propably just shakes his head.
Damn. The door won't open. I try to shake the handle, but it's stuck. Maybe locked.
"There's definitely someone there. Come". The footsteps are approaching much faster than they were thirty seconds ago. The door is still stuck.
"Maybe it's just a rat. Or a mouse", Gideon says from the back. The count doesn't answer.
Finally, the door opens and I slide fast inside and close the door behind me. I sigh. Thank God the door opened in time.
But the next challenge awaits me. There's nowhere to hide. Only a table and a chair, a little pile of hay. I decide to go behind the mahogany table.
Just when I've crouched under the table the door opens and the count and Gideon step in. Gideon stops by the door and looks straight into my eyes. I put a finger in front of my lips, forcing him to keep quiet so that the count wouldn't recognize anything.
"So, I want you to bring the little raven to me", the count says sternly.
"What? Why?", Gideon asks. He clearly doesn't understand. Neither do I.
"You know I can't become immortal without someone else dying in the twelve's circle."
"You know I can't do that!", Gideon shouts. This is the part I know.
"Looks like I have to force you to do that."
"Never", Gideon says. I see how he clenches his fists.
Suddenly Rakoczy runs from the corner and attacks behind Gideon. Where did he appear? Did he see me when I came to the room? And if he did why didn't he kill me right to the spot, giving that that's their plan?
"Rakoczy, do the job", the count says.
"No!", Gideon shouts from irritation. "You can't work against someone!"
Rakoczy starts to drag Gideon to the another chronograf, waiting in the opposite corner of the room. Gideon fights violently back, but Rakoczy is much stronger with the vampire-kind-of-hands which are now scratching Gideon's wrists.
At this time I open the door, and Rakoczy forces Gideon's finger to the chronograf and Gideon immediatly elapses. Damn I was so close, if I would've come just a little bit earlier...
"What have you..." Is all I say before I elapse too.
Woah. I'm happy those 2700 seconds are gone.
