Gwendolyn's POV
Those eyes, full of relieve, love, joy, everything I needed. I could've looked in them for hours, and put the look of them in a jar, so I would never forget it. I don't want those eyes never to go away.
Gideon kissed my forehead, and I leaned in to hug him. Nothing had ever felt so warm and welcoming in my life, even when I got to the bus right on time when I was running late.
Why can you travel back in time, travel forward in past, but never be able to stop the time itself? Why it has to escape through our fingers like fine sand and never come back?
"I can't believe it's over", Gideon said towards my shoulder and squeezed my back. A small tear drop was gliding down my cheek. I don't know if it was a tear of huge relieve or a feeling of getting something back at last, but I gladly buried it to Gideon's shoulder. The fabric of his jacket smelled like something I hadn't smelled in ages: home.
When the hug had lasted at least for a thousand years, Gideon removed his hands from my neck and looked at me. My eyes got stuck on the little red mark on his jacket front side.
"You're bleeding."
I remembered the cut that the count had made with his pretty knife. But I didn't want to think about it at that moment.
"Don't worry about it."
Gideon smiled a little, but that smile opened a new, beautiful world to me I had never visited before. It was full of sunlight and trees to sit under. It was a place I would've happily stayed forever.
Gideon hugged me again, and I dove to that world full of peace and calmness. I kissed Gideon, and that moment I don't want to forget, even if the price was the ending of elapsing. Some things are just too valuable to be forgotten.
"I love you", Gideon whispered in my ear,
and in that moment I think the time stopped for a second.

The parties in the 19th century were one of the prettiest in human history. Or at least these were. Paintings on the ceiling are telling the guests stories about nature and joy. I can see angels eating bright red apples, for example.
Gideon offers me his hand, taking me to the dance. The music is played by an orchestra sitting on a balcony so near the ceiling that the harps almost reach the stars in the painted sky.
The stars I noticed while we walked to the dance floor were dancing too, far away from us, to their own unknown music. The sky was full of them, like this place was full of people.
Gideon's eyes were full of stars too, exactly the same ones that I had seen in them a year ago. They were as bright as the Sun, sending me a light that I couldn't resist.
"Ready?", he asked me. I don't know how many times he has asked that since we got to know each other. Someone might say the phrase is overused, ready to be thrown in a trash bin, replaced with a better one, but I never get bored to the sound of it. And the answer is always the same:
"Ready when you are."

AAAAAAH WHAT HAS HAPPENED? 1.1K VIEWS??? I would 've never thought that this fanfic would reach so much attention <3
SO, this was the last chapter, I've had lots and lots of fun (and lots and lots NOT SO FUN) with this story. Most chapters are written in HUGE stress at Friday-Sunday nights, and I know they are not the best chapters I've made, but there are some chapters I'm actually proud of too :3
Huge thanks to everyone who has read, commented or voted my story, I can't tell how grateful I am to every single one of you all around the world <3
Last but not least, this fanfic wouldn't even exist without the awesome Kerstin Gier and the original Ruby Red- trilogy books, so all rights from characters etc. belong to her.
Don't forget to elapse daily,
See you (in the future ;) )!!!
