Gwendolyn's POV

The door of the Lodge is very beautiful. I stand on the last step that leads to the door and look at the elaborately done engravings. I put my hand on one of them and feel how the little furrow in the wood turns softly to the right and comes back to the circle where it left.
I pull the door just enough that I fit from the little space, because the door is so heavy I can barely open it.

Inside the Lodge I head straight to Madame Rossini like Leslie said. While I'm walking up the stairs I look up and see the ceiling of the Lodge. It's full of glass paintings, picturing the circle of twelve. I miss the last step and almost fall to the hard stone floor, but my hands react fast and they're in the ground before me, stopping me. The floor is cold and it sucks all the warmth from my hands. A notebook has fallen from my bag as I fell, and now it's laying on the floor. I get back on my feet and take the notebook from the ground. I open it to look at the pages. They have some notes about the circle of twelve surrounded by doodles.

Suddenly I hear words echoing from the end of the hallway. I throw the notebook in my bag and walk forward. The sound comes from the Dragon hall. I take the last steps in tiptoes and look around the corner to the dragon hall. The door is half-open so I can see very well to the room. Mr. George, Dr. white and Falk DeVilliers are in there, speaking.

"...can't do anything", Falk says.

"I have to agree with you", Dr. White says. "Looks like in this case it's impossible to get Gideon back". At this point I see his little son, Robert, standing behind his back and looking up to his father's face. But as usual, Dr. White doesn't see Robert, because he's a ghost.

"But there is always an option -", Mr. George tries to put in but fails miserably.

"Gideon is so talented that he can manage very well in the past. Our luck it wasn't the ruby who got lost", Dr. White says.

At this time Mr. George sees me. Worry grows on his face, creeping all the way up to his ears. Suddenly he waves his hand one time to the right - which means my left - and I turn back from the corner just in time so that Dr. White or Falk DeVilliers can't see me.

"What was that?", I hear Falk saying.

"Uhm...", Mr. George says, "a fly"

"Oh", Falk says.

Our luck it wasn't the ruby who got lost.

I breathe the air out of my lungs and start walking back the hallway to Madame Rossini's room. When I'm in front of the door, I just swing it open and let it close behind me, making a big bang.

"Having a bad day, little swan?", Madame Rossini says behind the clothes rail. I love how peaceful she is everyday, no matter what life throws at her. She never loses her patience.

"It was just fine a couple minutes ago", I say.

"Oh I know it too well, these people can be really annoying sometimes."

Annoying? Is that how she calls these stupid, selfish and arrogant people here?

"Did you come here for a reason or did you just want to hide from those idiots?"

Now that's what I'm talking about.

"Actually Leslie and I need a dress for me, for the secret mission."

"I see. And what kind of dress you're looking for this time?", Madame Rossini starts immediately searching and looking from hundreds of options.

"It doesn't matter, just something that fits here, the Lodge in 1756", I check the year from my palm where I scribbled it after the accident that happened with the first paper.

"Of course it matters, little swan neck!", Madame Rossini shouts from the back of the room.

I walk between the clothes rail to the mirror where Madame Rossini is. She has a beautiful blue dress in a hanger. The shade of the blue is between light blue and royal blue, and it has lacing in the front. A white piece of fabric begins from the lacing and goes down to the hem. The sleeves are long enough to reach the elbows. After all it's really pretty.

"Chop chop, try it on", Madame Rossini says and pulls a partition with wheels to me. When I just stand and look at the partition and Madame Rossini, she gives me warning raised eyebrow. I take the dress and hurry behind the partition. I take my leather jacket off in a hurry and let it fall to the floor. After that I try to step into the dress as fast as I can, hoping not to rip the beautiful fabric. When I feel ready, I walk to the mirror and look at myself.

"You're one of the lucky ones who look good in any color, swan neck", Madame Rossini says. "So, where do you elapse actually? Inside the Lodge or outside?"

"The meeting is actually on the roof", I say and wonder if I have to stand on top of the glass painting I saw earlier today.

"Dangerous", Madame Rossini says as she pulls a chair in front of a table and pats it, indicating that I should sit on it. "Remember that if you happen to fall down from up there and die, I'm going to be mad at you for infinity because you ruined my hand made gown from the 1750's."

"Trust me, I won't", I say when Madame Rossini puts a pin into my hair.
