Miles was furiously clicking the buttons on his remote. When it comes to video games I am a pro. Having a younger brother has it's perks, sometimes. On the TV screen I could see Miles character walk around the corner behind me and instantly I spun my avatar around to shoot him right in the head.
"You fucking screen watcher." Miles launched his remote into the air which thankfully landed on the chair next to us.
"I'm not screen watching" I lied. "You're just complaining because you know I am way better at you at this game." I said laughing. Miles picked up his remote again and clicked on the 'New Game' button. Round sixteen had started.
"You are not winning, I have a good feeling about this round." He yelled at the screen.
"That's what you have said every round, don't get too ahead of yourself." The sound of the gun shots went off when I shot Miles once again but this time in the balls of his avatar.
"What no, I do not want to see a replay of that it was too painful." He said laughing as the screen replayed my shot. In slow motion the animated bullet went straight into the characters private bits and it was just too funny to watch. "Oh god no, that makes me feel sick."
"That feels so good." I laughed. He paused the game and switched the TV off before slouching down in his spot.
"Let's do something besides the TV. Any ideas?" He smiled.
"Let me think." I said tapping the side of my head.
"What do you do in your spare time when you're bored?"
Shall I tell him the truth? Screw it.
"This is going to sound so lame but when I am really bored at my old house my brother and I would get a mattress and go mattress surfing down the stairs it was so much fun."
I looked over at Miles who was looking at me confused. He now thinks I am a freak I knew it, why can't I just shut up and be normal.
"That sounds like the best idea in the world, let's go." He said jumping up excitedly. I was so surprised at his enthusiasm that I couldn't help but to roar with laughter at him, I could see the confusion written all over his face. "What's so funny?" His deep husky voice said.
"Nothing." I lied, smiling.
I positioned the mattress at the top of the stairs ready for Miles to go first. The look on his face is priceless I could take a picture.
"You can do it, go on." I persuaded.
"What happens if I go too fast and go through the wall." He looks so nervous but at the same time he is getting onto the mattress which is a good sign.
This staircase is perfect. It is long and wide at the same time so there is plenty of room for the mattress to slide down.
"We will just have to see." I played.
"What no wait-" Before he could finish of his sentence I pushed him down the stairs, he went full speed spinning at the same time. He lied flat and braced himself for a rough landing. The mattress hit the wall next to the front door but not too hard. I waited for a second or two before I saw Miles getting up and shoving his fist in the air. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
This is by far the most fun I have had in ages.
"How was it?"
"Oh my gosh you have to try it." He was out of breath by the time he reached the top of the staircase from all of the whooping he was doing. Bringing the mattress with him he angled it on the top of the stairs. "Your go." Just as I sat down and he was ready to push me, Miles lost his footing and fell right on top of me causing us to both slide down the stairs at break neck speed. Miles was lying on top of me with his arms outstretched trying to slow us down but too late, we hit the wall.
