Yall I swear this starts to get better at chapter three... I had trouble starting it.
The doctor muttered the two words Jack had been dreading, "Its polio" Jack wrapped his arms around Katherine. "Kath I can't lose her!"
Their daughter had been sick for a while, and they finally were able to afford a doctor. They didn't realize how severe this was until just now. "Jack don't say that! Crutchie beat it... she can to"
"But he... he barley survived.... it was horrible" Jack shuddered at the thought of his own daughter going through that.
Katherine's eyes were glistening with tears, "What... what do we tell her?"
Jack held her tighter, "the truth..." a few silent tears ran down his face.
Jack and Katherine walked to their daughters room. "Mandy, sweetie... the doctor said you have polio... but you don't gotta worry... you remember you're uncle Crutchie... he had that too... and he's fine," Katherine held her three year old daughter in her arms, tears streaming down her face.
