Jack and Crutchie sat rigid. "What... what was that!?"
An other scream echoed through the hall of the lodging house, "MOMMY MAKE IT STOP!" Followed it.
Jack stood up and ran to the bedroom, Crutchie followed close behind. Mandy was curled up against Katherine, the doctor was doing some sort of examination. Jack let out a gasp. Seeing Mandy cry was almost as rare as seeing Crutchie angry. Jack and Crutchie sat down next to them, "Mandy... the doctors gonna figure out how to help you so you can get better quick."
Mandy sobbing, the pain in her leg alone was indescribable, there are no possible way to describe how agonizing it was. And now the doctor was examining it.
After about five more minutes of this and some other tests the doctor looked up gravely, "Im afraid there isn't much we can do at this point, the damage to her spinal chord is severe... too severe"
Mandy was to upset to even question anything he just said.
Katherine pulled her closer, "Do... do you mean she might..."
The doctor nodded, "chances are she will..."
