As soon as the boys left with Mandy, Jack and Katherine completely fell apart. They embraced and started to sob. Loud ugly cries that shook their bodys and caused them to gasp for air. She was their only child and the light of their lifes. But now... chances were they would lose her. Even if they dont Jack knew from Crutchies experiences the amount of pain she'd be in.

Katherine eventually fell asleep and Jack started to pack their belongings. When he was done he layed down next to Katherine, waiting for her to wake up.
...
"Jack?," she muttered, her voice hoarse.

Jack shifted his position so he was facing her, "Yeah?"

Katherine sighed, "should we go to the house... the doctors coming again tomorow right..."

Jack nodded, "yeah... lets go".
...
Jack and Katherine walked hand in hand into the bedroom of the lodging house. They heard sobs coming from the corner of the room.

"MANDY!?" Cried Jack.

Katherine ran over to Mandy and held her in her arms. Jack timidly made his way over to them.

"Mandy are you okay?" Katherine asked.

Mandy shook her head, "I made everyone sad..."

Jack broke down crying into Katherine's shoulder, she wrapped her free arm around him.

Mandy looked up at them, "see look daddy crying... I made him sad... I don't like that!"

Katherine looked down on her, her eyes filled with tears, "no... its not your fault... it's the polio... we dont want you sick... but Mandy... I promise you, you're going to be okay"

Mandy crawled into Katherines lap, "okay... Thank you... will daddy be okay?"

Jack looked up, still in tears, "Yeah..."

Mandy smiled, "will you stay here tonight?"

They smiled slightly, "of course" each layed on either side of Mandy, holding her in their arms.
