They didn't win the war. The Capitol stayed in control. We are still trapped in a prison we may never get out of. I forgave my father and mother, my brother never did. It's not their fault. Daddy almost died during the war. He's still here today. So is my mother. I live in the victor's village, District 4. I'm 15. I'm forced to put my name in the Reaping bowl every single year. Nightmares flood my mind every night. Nothing ever changes around here. Sitting by the water, making a net, or fishing with a trident. Going home and eating some sugar cubes. It's practically the same routine every day. Except for Reaping day, everyone's worst nightmare.
