Brother's Teammate (Andrew Benintendi)

Chapter 19

MARCH 4TH, 2017 

Today was the day that Don was revealing to the boys that they had a new worker and that's me! I can't wait to see the look on Christian and G's faces when I walk through the door. 

Don wanted me there early, so I was up at 5 and in the gym for an hour and then went back up to my room and got into the shower. I did the usual, straightened my hair and put it in a ponytail and then did some makeup and then got dressed. (outfit in media.)

I left the hotel around 7:30 and stopped at Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, the best ever. I could live off of it if I could, I just don't want to get fat.

I drove for about 30 minutes before arriving at the field. None of the guys were here yet and won't be for another half hour. Don was waiting for me outside and I went over to him and gave him a hug.

"Well you made a really fast decision." He said as we sat down in his office. I smiled. "Yeah something with the team triggered my decision to come here." I said hoping he would leave it at that. 

He did and we talked about the schedule and who I would be living with and of course, it was Christian, oh great. I mean it's not a bad thing but I don't want him thinking we're gonna get together and stuff like that because Christian is a great guy, I just hope me and Andrew will get back together. 

Don heard the guys were here so he motioned for me to follow him as he went into the clubhouse to gather the guys up but I stayed out in the hallway waiting for him to call me in. 

"And guys, give her a warm welcome, which I'm sure you will, our new social media correspondent!" That was my cue and I walked into the locker room and everyone started going crazy and G came over to me and picked me up and spun me around.

"Christian told me everything that happened that other night. I'm so sorry baby girl, but you're okay now right?" G asked and I nodded and gave him one final hug before going over to the rest of the team and giving them hugs and the final person I got to was Christian. 

"So that's why you were in a hotel room." He said and I nodded and he got the biggest smile on his face and hugged me like his life depended on it. "I'm so happy that you're here." He said as we pulled away. 

"I am too, I think this is going to be a great change for me and I hope I make the best of going around the country with you guys." I said and I gave him a smile. "Dinner tonight? You and me?" He asked and I got butterflies in my stomach. 

"Since I'm going to be living with you, sounds like a wonderful idea." I said and he smiled and kissed me on the cheek and went to practice and I sighed. I went back to Don's office and he gave me my new iPhone 7 for all things Miami Marlins. It had their Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter. 

I grabbed my sunglasses and went out to the field and decided to take some pictures and videos and post them to Snapchat. The guys met up with fans and I took pictures of that and put them on Snapchat and Instagram the usual. 

They were playing the Cubs today and I couldn't wait to see Kris and Anthony. I have just become friends with most of these players and it's amazing to have so many friends from different teams because they each bring something different to their team and then they're the sweetest guys. 

"KRISTEN!" I heard Bryzzo yell from across the diamond. I turned my head and saw the duo staring at me and I smiled and ran over to them and hugged them both. "What are you doing here? I thought you would be in Ft. Myers with the Sox." Kris said and I explained to him what happened. 

"I'm gonna kill him when we play the Sox in April." Anthony said. "No need. I'm sure Xander will be doing that every chance that he can get." I said with a laugh and we caught up and then it was time for them to take BP so I went back to the Marlins clubhouse and just chilled out with the guys before it was game time. 

I went to my seat in the stands right by the dugout and started taking pictures and videos for Instagram Stories and Snapchat. 

The guys ended up winning 4-2 and they were all happy about it. I went back into the clubhouse to wait for Christian and he came out in regular clothes and looked at me. "Ready?" He asked and I nodded and we walked out to our cars and I followed him to his house. 

We got there in about 20 minutes and the house was beautiful. He helped me get all my stuff out and showed me to my room. "I'm gonna cook for you tonight is that okay?" He asked. "It sounds perfect." I said smiling at him. He left the room and I got into the shower. 

I changed into my personalized red sox t-shirt and some leggings. I threw my hair up into a bun and put on my glasses and went downstairs and went into the kitchen where it smelt amazing. 

"Didn't peg you as the guy to cook." I said and that made him jump. "Don't scare me like that." I laughed and went over and hugged him. "Thank you for everything the other night. I didn't get to thank you because you had to leave early and I was too busy crying at night. So thank you, I really appreciate everything you've done for me." 

I said and he looked down at me and smiled. "Anything for you, you deserve to be treated like the princess that I know you are and while you're here that's what I'm going to do and make Andrew realize what he's missing." 

He kissed my forehead and let him get back to cooking. I went into the living room and turned on the TV and found Netflix, my favorite. I found Grey's Anatomy and started watching from the beginning. 

About 30 minutes later, Christian came back with two plates of Chicken Alfredo and two glasses of wine. "Didn't peg you as the wine drinking kind either." I said and he laughed. "Well I'm full of surprises." He said with a wink and we sat there and ate in a comfortable silence. 

"Now what is this show all about?" He asked once we were finished and brought the plates into the kitchen. I smiled, it was cute that he wanted to know so he could be as into it as I was. I told him everything and he let me cuddle up next to him. 

We watched about two whole seasons before I was basically falling asleep on him. "You ready for bed?" He asked and I just nodded my head, too tired to even talk. "You want to sleep in your own room, or mine?" He asked hesitating on the 'or mine' part. 

I thought about it and point at him. I could feel him smiled and he lifted me up with ease and brought me to his room and laid me down on the bed. He took my glasses off and set them on the nightstand and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed. 

He came back in just basketball shorts and he has wonderful abs, yeah I was staring. "You're staring." He said and I laughed. "Yeah and? Is that a crime?" I said looking at him and he gave me a smirk and pulled me closer to him. 

"Nope not one bit." He said kissing my forehead and cuddling me and I eventually fell asleep with him. 

Do I try things with Christian or do I go back to Andrew at some point? Ugh why me?

A/N: Congrats to the Cubs on winning the World Series last night, what a game to watch. At the beginning of this post season I said to myself that if the Red Sox didn't make it, I wanted the Cubs to win and they did and what a great run they had!
