Brother's Teammate (Andrew Benintendi)

Chapter 23

JUNE 12TH, 2017 

We have an off day today and the Sox were at home playing the Phillies. Since today is our off day and we had an early game yesterday, I flew from Pittsburgh to Boston that night and was going to support my guys at the game today. 

The past month has been great, both teams are going good. I got in last night around 9 and my mom gladly picked me up from the airport and brought me home. Xander was so surprised when I walked through the front door that he actually cried. 

I missed him so much and I knew he missed me a lot if not more than I missed him. Christian wasn't too happy with me going home, but we aren't in a relationship so he has no control over me and what I do. 

I have been talking to Andrew lately and we've become good friends so who knows what will happen when I see him today. I got up around 10 and went downstairs to have breakfast with Xander whose face was healing pretty well. 

"You ready to head to the stadium sis?" Xander asked after I came out of my room from getting ready. I was wearing my Betts jersey and jean shorts and a pair of Nikes and I nodded my head. "As ready as I'll ever be." I said grabbing my suitcase and dragging it out to Xander's car. 

He was taking me to the airport straight after the game so I could get back to Miami for the game tomorrow. "Who are you most excited to see out of the guys again?" He asked and I sighed. "Besides you, probably Mookie and Brock. I have been talking to Andrew a lot again." I said and I saw his hand grip the steering wheel. 

"Why?" He asked. "Because he apologized to me when I came up when you got hit and we're friends for now. I don't know if I'll trust him fully again but it's worth a shot to be friends you know?" I said and he nodded. 

"How's Christian?" He asked and I smiled when he said his name. "He's good, all the guys are good to me down there. They've become my family down there since you guys are all the way up here. I can't wait till you all come down for the All Star Game and experience what I do almost every day in that park. It's beautiful." I said looking at Xander with a smile. 

"Does he make you happy?" He asked being a big brother and all. "Yeah he does, but I really don't want a relationship again because I'm afraid of getting hurt like I did with Andrew and he understands that. So we're basically in a flirtationship." I said with a laugh. 

Xander laughed along with me. "Well as long as you're happy, I'm happy sis. Even if it means talking to Andrew again." He said as we pulled into the parking lot of Fenway. "Thanks Xander, it means a lot." I said shooting him a smile while getting out of the car and going in. 

We heard all the commotion in the locker room and Xander walked in first and then I popped out behind him and all the guys came over to me and gave me hugs. "Sorry bro, we've missed her more than we missed you." Mookie said throwing his arm around my shoulder. 

"Don't worry, I'm sure she missed you guys more than she missed me so it's okay." Xander said with a laugh. "So not true." I said back to him and we just hung out and then the guys went out for BP and let me take a couple swings. 

"Hey can we talk?" Andrew asked as Edwin was taking BP. I nodded and he led me towards the dugout. Xander saw and gave a look and I waved it off and went with Andrew. 

"So I really want to ask you a question but I know you're happy in Miami and with Christian.." He said cringing at the sound of Christians name and I rolled my eyes. "I want you to be mine again Kristen. I miss you so much and talking to you again has made me realize what I've done and how sorry I am and that I want you back so bad." He said looking at me with pleading eyes. 

I sighed. "Andrew, what you did really hurt me, you know that. Being friends right now is all we can be, until you prove to me that I can trust you in a relationship again and that you won't go out and get drunk and cheat on me again." I said and he nodded. 

"I'm willing to do that. How about a date after the game?" He asked hopeful. I sighed. "I can't I catch a flight right after this to go back to Miami for my job. I'm sorry. The next time you'll see me is probably the All-Star Game, rain check until then?" I asked and he nodded giving me a hug. 

He went back out to the field and I sat in the dugout just watching all the guys. "So what did he want?" Xander asked coming over and sitting next to me. "He said he missed me and wanted to get back together again and I told him it's going to take awhile for me to trust him again and then he asked me on a date tonight and I told him I'd have to take a raincheck until the all-star game." I said and he nodded and hugged me and we went off to the clubhouse and then went up to our seats in the suites to watch the game. 

The guys ended up winning 10-5 and it was a good game from the guys and we left the stadium and Xander brought me over to the airport. "I'll see you soon okay?" I said giving him one final hug and he nodded and we said our goodbyes and I went into the airport and checked my bags and went through security and got right on the plane. 

I got out my phone and texted Christian. Just got on the plane, see you soon! xoxo

He was picking me up from the airport, the flight attendants went through the usual and soon enough, we were up in the air. 

A quick 4 and a half hours later, we touched down in Miami. I grabbed my carry on and my purse and hurried off the plane. The airport was a desert seeing as it was midnight. I went down to baggage claim where I saw Christian and AJ standing there waiting for me. 

I went over to them and gave them both hugs and went over to get my bag and then got into Christians car and went to drop AJ off and then went back to our house. I got out of the car and Christian got my stuff and brought it to my room. 

I smiled at him thanking him and he looked at me with his I'm in the mood eyes so I grabbed his shirt and brought his lips to mine. He pulled me closer and then pushed me on the bed. "I missed you." He said kissing down my neck and that's how the rest of our night went. 

The real question is: did I really miss him? Or did I miss Andrew?
