~ Juli's P.O.V. ~
"I can't believe this test." I said to myself. I was just May finals, and this exam was crazy.
"Did you have a question Miss Coachman?" My professor, Mr. Boding, asked me from across his desk. I liked Mr. Boding. He was the only teacher at my new Uni who accepted me for being 19 and pregnant. He kinda reminded me of my Grandpa.
I shook my head. "Um, no. I think I'm good."
I looked down at the pages and pages of test. Everything I have been studying the last month flew out of my brain. My pen stayed still in my hand. I couldn't seem to focus on anything today.
"What is that?" I thought to myself.
I thought that maybe if I stood up and went to get a drink, I would feel a little better. I slid out of my seat slowly, careful not to make any noise.
"Can I go get a quick drink?" I asked nicely. "I'm feeling a little dizzy."
Mr. Boding shrugged. His American accent rang through my ears. "I guess. Just make sure you're back in a couple minutes."
I thanked him and rushed out of the room. Exhaling hard, I stumbled over to the fountain.
"Why am I this exhausted?" I said to myself.
I could feel beads of sweat form across my forehead. My breaths started to get more and more choppy and palms felt slippery. Within a couple seconds, I fell down against that wall.
"Somebody, please help!" I said, breathless.
Of course, no one came around. Everyone was in a classroom, staring their finals.
What is wrong with me?
Just as I think I'm going to faint, I feel fluid rush out between my legs.
At first, I'm embarrassed. I was going, "Oh my god, did I seriously just pee myself."
But then, my eyes widened. Did my water just break?
I look down at the puddle on the floor. Although my body was basically asleep, my brain knew I had to get to the hospital.
I started crawling back to Mr. Boding's room. Every inch felt I had just crossed the finish line after a marathon. When I finally reached the room, I struggled to get to the doorknob.
You can do this Juli.
Do it for your parents.
Do it for your daughter.
Do it for Niall.
Somehow, I found the strength to turn the knob. Contractions in my stomach began, and I screamed out in pain as soon as the door flew open. About ten students rushed to my side as I lay there, clutching my belly.
"Someone get me to a hospital." I groaned, through clenched teeth.
To my surprise, Mr. Boding picked me up in his arms and stood up. He looked back at the other students and said, "I want you all to go home. Put your exams on my desk and go home. We can do this another day."
I'm not really sure what happened in the next few minutes. Probably because my eyes were squeezed shut from the pain. When I found the willpower to open my eyes, I saw we were in Mr. Boding's car.
I looked over at him. "Are you taking me to a hospital?" I asked, almost yelling.
He kept his eyes focused on the road. "Yes. I had the school contact your grandmother, so she should be waiting there when we arrive."
