~ Eleanor's P.O.V. ~

As I walked up to my room after Juli's phone call, I thought about how I was going to pull this off. I could say that I was going to visit my family, but they live like an hour away. Louis would probably figure that one out pretty quick.

I can't just pick up and leave. But needless to say, I did tell Juli that I would be there, and I don't want to brea my promise. As I start packing my suitcase, I hear a knock behind me.

I turn my head and see Louis leaning against the door frame.

"Hey," he smirks. "What are you packing for?" He asks, with a hint of eagerness behind his voice.

I turn my back to him and press my lips together.

Great. This is just great.

I quickly try to come up with an answer, but my brain is in a jumble. "Um... I was just packing for.." I try to make a solution. "My cousin just had a baby. I was gonna go visit her in Chicago."

I mentally face-palm myself. Louis is a smart guy; he knows Juli was due around this time AND that she lives in Chicago.

"That's funny. It kinda sounds like your describing... Juli." His voice suddenly goes from playful to serious. "Are you going to see her?" He asks, with edge in his voice.

I turn and walk up to him. With my face no more than a foot away from his, I whisper, "You better swear not to say a word. I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone."

He put his hands up in defense. "Okay, okay. How long are you gonna be gone?" Louis asks.

"I'm not sure. Depends on how much help she needs with Maddie." I say and turn back to my suitcase.

"Maddie? Who's Maddie?" He asks.

I take a deep breath. "That's her daughter."

"Oh, that makes sense." Louis says and walks towards me. "Can I come with you?" He raises an eyebrow.

I snap my head over to look him in he eyes. "What? You can't do that. If we're both gone, they'll think something is up."

Louis nods before he stands to close my door. "True. But even if I stay, they'll question me."

I look up at Louis. If there's one thing you should know about him, it's that he can't keep a secret really well. Maybe it would be better if he accompanied me.

"If you come, you can't do anything to give us away." I warn. "If they ask where we're going, tell then we went to visit an old friend in America. Don't give them any details. Especially Niall. I promised Juli to keep it a secret from all of you. But now that you've figured it out, I need to you to keep your lips sealed.

He smiled. "I'll go pack."

A few hours later, I rolled my suitcase down the stairs and placed it by the front door. "Louis, are you ready?" I yelled up the stairs. I knew the lads went outside to play football, so i figured no one would hear.

"Yeah, hold on! I'll be down in a second." I heard him reply.

I went to the hall closet and grabbed my jacket. Even though it's May, the weather is still pretty chilly.

"Where are you headed?" A voice said behind me, making me jump.

I turn around to find Niall. "Oh, Louis and I were going on a little trip to visit an old friend." I say, trying to hide the worry in my voice.

"Oh. Where at?" He asked again.

"America. I haven't gotten to see her in a while."

He nodded. Did I convince him?
