Chapter 2
"Mommy? Mommy where are you?"
I wake up. I'm half paralyzed and cold sweat. I sit up because of the nausea. What the hell was that dream about really? I dreamed of a faceless girl. A wet little girl, who first asked for her mom. Then she jumped around and laughed. That laughter. That laughter. I will never be able to get it out of your head, so beautiful but terrifying at the same time.
I open my eyes and look out into the darkness. And then she stands there. The girl from my nightmare, still faceless and wet, with the long hair weak locks hanging from her head. I blink hard, and when I open my eyes again, she's not there, but something is there. The laughter. I hear it loud and clear, I can hear how it fades and disappears into the dark corners.
I get the urge to yell at mom and dad like a scared little child, but I resist the urge with big effort. Oh my god I'm sixteen, and I'm scared of a nightmare, I want "daddy" to come and look for ghosts in my closet, or ax murderer outside my window.
I pull my hand through my hair and shake my head. My alarm clock is on the bedside table. It's 5:05 in the morning, and since I don't have to go up until the time is 07:00 a.m. I lay down again and tries to go back to sleep.
When the alarm clock goes off, I wake up with a jerk and stands up in bed, in less than two seconds. And then I discover the alarm clock, of course. I sigh to myself and to step down from the bed. It must have been the nightmare before that caused me to react like this, because I've never responded to the alarm clock like this before. I turn off the clock and claps my hands and the light turns on. I smile to myself, pretty handy with a clap lamp indeed.
I am a freshman, and I'm starting a new school, and is also one of the reasons that the move was stupid, I went like my whole year in school and then I need to switch to a school where I don't know anyone and additionally at the end of the semester. But I shouldn't complain, I've decided not to. For mom and dad's sake, I'll try to do my best to make this move positive, I can't keep on punishing mom and dad anymore in any case and now we're already here and it won't change in the nearest future anyway.
I get dressed, putting hair wax in my hair before I pack up my school bag and go down to the hall and leave the bag there. Then I go to the kitchen where the rest of the family is sitting. Why everyone is awake , I know not, actually.
"Hey sweetie," mom said.
"Good morning," I say .
Mom standing by the sink with a cup of coffee. I stand next to her and pulls out a bowl and spoon.
"But Jaydiy", mom says alarming.
"Huh?" I ask while I take out the yogurt and sists down next to Jocelyn.
"Sweetheart you're pale," mom says worryingly.
She puts down the cup and walks up to me. She puts a hand on my forehead.
"And you're ice cold," she says. Mom puts her hand inside my shirt and feel on my back. "Are you ill? Do you feel any nausea?"
"No, I don't," I say. "Am I really that pale?"
"You're whiter than a sheet," Jocelyn giggles.
"Why you little..." I say and start to tickle her.
She laughs out loud. Her laugh is so pure and tinkling that doesn't even sounds annoying.
"Jaydin doesn't seems very sick" , Daniel states.
"No, he seems fine," Zebaztian grins.
Well they're right. I'm not sick, I'm just recovering myself from the nightmare I had last night. Maybe I was so scared of it because of Jocelyn. It could have been her, the age was almost the same, it's just the hair color is not right, Jocelyn has ashy blonde hair. Jocelyn is the only one of us who has dad's hair color, she has both his hair and eye color. I have my mother's chocolate brown hair and Dad's blue eyes , and the twins have mom's chocolate brown hair and green eyes. So if you are quick in your head and notice things fast, then you you that I'm the only one of us siblings who are a mix of both my mom and dad, while the other looks like one of our parents.
