Dean and I are snuggled up in bed in the most recent hotel. The door opens and Dean and I flip around, prepared to fight.
It's just Sam, "Morning, sunshine."
"Ugh, what time is it?" Dean asks.
"Uh, it's about five forty five," Sam says.
"Good morning?" I ask.
"Yep," Sam says.
"Where does the day go?" Dean asks sarcastically. "Did you sleep last night?"
"Yeah, I grabbed a couple hours," Sam says.
"Liar," I mumble, getting out of bed. Dean follows suit. "I was up at three and you were watching the George Foreman infomercial."
"What can I say? It's riveting TV," Sam says.
"When was the last time you got a good night's sleep?" Dean asks.
"Well, a little while, I guess. Not a big deal," Sam says.
"Yeah, it is," I say.
"Okay, I appreciate your concern," Sam starts.
"Oh, I'm not concerned about you. It's your job to keep my ass alive, so I need to shut up," Dean says. "Seriously, you still having nightmares about Jess?"
"Yeah," Sam sits down on the other bed. "But it's not just her, it's everything. I just forgot, yanno, this job. Man, it gets to ya."
"Well, ya can't let it. Ya can't bright it home with ya," I say.
"So, what? All this never keeps ya up at night?" Sam asks. Dean and I nod. "Never? You're never afraid?"
"No, not really," Dean says.
Sam laughs and pulls a knife out from under our pillow, "Ya sure?"
"That's not fear," I say. "That's precaution."
"Alright, whatever. I'm too tired to argue," Sam says. Dean's phone rings. Dean picks it up.
"Hello?" he says.
"Dean, it's, uh, it's Jerry Panowski," A man says "You and your dad helped me out a couple years back."
"Oh, right, yeah, up in Catania Pennsylvania. Yeah, the poltergeist thing," Dean says. "It's not back, is it?"
"No," Jerry says. "No, ha, thank God, no. But it's something else, and, uh, I think it could be a lot worse."
"What is it?" I ask.
"Can we talk in person?" Jerry asks.
We're on the road, Dean and Sam in the Impala, I, on my Harley.
"Thanks for making the trip so quick," Jerry says. "I ought to be doing you guys a favor, not the other way around. Dean and your dad really helped me out."
"Yeah, he told me, it was a poltergeist," Sam says.
"Poltergeist. Man, I love that movie," a man in the background says.
"Hey, nobody's talking to you, keep walkin'," Jerry says. "Damn right, it was a poltergeist. Practically tore our house apart. I'll tell ya somethin', if it wasn't for you and your dad, I probably wouldn't be alive. Your dad said you were off at college. Is that right?"
"Yeah, I was," Sam says. "I'm taking some time off."
"Well, he was real proud of you, I could tell," Jerry says. "He talked about you all the time."
