Ever since then, Sky had been unforgiving to himself for giving me that sassy attitude ( read that in Aph's sassy voice).
Currently, five years had gone by and I was walking through the halls when I heard a faint panting, walking towards it, it had came from Lady Zianna's room.
Opening the door, I was shocked to see Lady Zianna on the floor, sweating profusely and in pain. I hadn't seen her in months and judging by the swell of her stomach, I guess I know now.
Without wasting a moment longer, I quickly scooped Zianna in my arms and headed toward the bed and laid her down gently. From there, she knew what to do as I stood by and used my magicks to remove some of her pain away.
I wasn't sure how long this was going on for but I knew that I did my duty correctly when sharp cries were heard.
I headed towards the foot of the bed which was already bloodied. I didn't know what has shocked me more then, the fact that there was more blood loss than expected or that the baby clearly wasn't Lord Garte's.
Picking him up, I raised a questioning eyebrow towards Lady Zianna,
"Aphmau, dear, please don't tell Garte. I wasn't in my right mind then, I'm so sorry. I-"
"Save it Zianna," I whispered loudly, efficiently quieting Lady Zianna down, does Lord Garte know of this?"
"No, he doesn't, he thinks that I'm away at someplace far for now." she replied with a slight tremor in her voice.
"Good, now let's get you cleaned up, I will bring his baby in as if I've found it right outside the gates and you can do whatever you wish with it. Is that alright Zianna?"
"Yes!" She exclaimed almost instantly with happy eyes, "Thank you so much Aphmau, how can I ever repay you?"
Wow, cliché much?
"With nothing Lady Zianna, as long as you keep my secret."
"Alright, it's a deal then. One more thing Aphmau, could you be little Vlad's Guardian?"
Well, it's not everyday that I could be somebody's Guardian.
"Alright Zianna, you better rest well now. Lord Garte would be returning from his hunting trip in a fortnight and brush up on your acting as well."
"Alright then Aphmau, and thank you once again." Zianna thanked me once again with happy eyes.
"Don't worry, Lady Zianna, it was my pleasure to be of service to you."
Silently closing the door, I made my way to my own room which was huge since I was 'Garte's only daughter' even though I've told him many times that I was just his guard.
Closing my door and making sure to lock it once I've entered the room, I slid down the door and sat on the floor rather unladylike if you ask me.
Closing my eyes, I let out an exhausted sigh, what has this era come to now? Un-loyal lovers? Back in the day, no one would dare do what Lady Zianna had done.
But you couldn't really blame her. Zianna was a good and honest person, for that, I'm pretty sure she has a good reason for this mistake.
Sigh, who am I kidding. Humans are hard to read nowadays and I'm sure even the simplest of people would change.
Troubled in my thoughts, I didn't even hear it when someone had teleported right next to me until they gave me a hug. Startled, I jumped a little before turning to them,
"You must really be troubled to not notice my presence beside you." He said, smirking a little in the crook of my neck before turning to me with worried eyes.
"Yeah, this family is full of troubles." I replied with a weary sigh.
"Not as troubled as our family though, huh?"
That gave me a new relevation. Sky was right, our family was troubled.
For the past few years Sky had tried to keep tabs on all of us but found none. He found me on accident but it had seemed like the rest had just proofed away into thin air.
"Don't worry Sky, I know that you're trying your best. We'll find them, don't worry about it."
He looked at me with tired eyes.
"Alright Jess, we'll find them." He finished off with a yawn.
"You've travelled the Ru'aun region to search for them again didn't you?" I realized with a weary sigh.
"Yes, and they are still no where to be found."
"You should still rest Sky. You'll tire yourself out if you keep going on like this."
"But what about the borders?" He tried to negotiate.
"I'll be in charge of that tonight."
"Are you sure Jess? You're usually so busy at night." Sky asked, clearly that I'll tire myself out.
"Don't worry about it Sky, I'll manage. I'll even take breaks in between."
"Alright Jess, stay safe." He finalized before heading to his quarters to get his well deserved rest.
With a heaving sigh, I got up. It usually takes a few minutes if I fly to the Border so why not walk this time?
Exiting my quarters, I strolled out of the castle and into town where the townsfolk greeted me. They know that I had somewhere to go, they always do and they pack food for me whenever even though I told them that they needn't. But following their words, I was their 'Sweet Little Aphmau' and shouldn't be stressing myself out much.
Thanking the townsfolk, I headed towards the forest where I made sure nobody enters. If they did and still had the guts to venture onwards, it would take them a few days before they reach the Border. And they mustn't know about that place.
