Nick Stone
"Rocky.."
I frowned. She must have hit her head hard. She called me with a different name.
"No, Charlie. It's me, Nick. I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit you. I swear I- Oh my God, you're bleeding! I should take you to the hospital-"
I was taken aback when she struggled to sit up, shaking her head.
"No! No, I'm fine! I'm not hurt. Just take me away from here-"
"What are you saying?! Your face is bruised I need to-"
"Please just do it!" she pleaded, sobbing on my chest as she clutched my shirt. We had stood up from the ground and I'm still holding her in case she fall. "Take me away from here, he's gonna kill me! Please!"
"What? Who are you talking about?! Charlie!"
I gripped her arm as she was about to run away again. Her eyes kept on darting to the sides, fear clear on her face.
"Tell me what happened, Charlie. Look at me." I said as gently as I can, lifting her face to meet my eyes. My heart constricted when I saw tears and anxiety on her chocolate eyes.
"S-Someone's trying to h-hurt me. Please get me out of here, Nick, please. I beg you, h-he might come up any second." she begged desperately.
I don't know but I never doubted what she said for a second. I quickly stuffed her inside the car, starting the engine and speeding out of there. She had put her seatbelt on and clutching on it tightly. She kept her head low on her seat.
I never saw her like this, scared and anxious. She's always cool and calm. Always spunky.
No, she's also like this back on the rooftop when I talked to her..
"How hurt are you? Charlie?" I prompted her when she didn't answer right away.
"Not much." she muttered softly.
"What- Do you think I'm stupid?! You're fucking bleeding on the face, Raven!" I screamed at her, frustrated and scared. If someone tried to kill her, hurt her..
It's my fault, right? I threw her out of that party, and probably met her assaulter while walking home.
"I-It's just my face.." she whimpered, crying silently. "H-he punched me and pulled at my hair. I ran."
I groaned in distress.
"Do you remember his face?"
She shook her head, staring straight out of the window.
"What about when I hit you? Did you broke something?"
"No. Nothing serious-"
"Charlie." I ground out to her.
"Fine, my torso hurts a bit from the impact. But that's it. Nothing serious. Honest."
"We still need to take you to the hospital."
She look scared, but didn't argue.
"We need to report this to the police, you know?" I said. I know my name will be dragged and my father will probably kill me, but it just seems right to let authorities know.
She merely nodded. She was silent along the ride to the hospital. A nurse immediately patched her face up and instructed for us to wait for a doctor who will conduct some tests and check her xray.
"Do you have your guardian with you, Miss Raven?" the nurse asked gently to Charlie who still remained silent. Under the glare of the hospital lights she looked extremely pale and worn out.
