Nick Stone

"Great game, guys!"

Coach Harris clapped my shoulders, beaming at me. We have won the game, scoring five points ahead Cornwall.

"Woo! Go Pirates!" Jake screamed, and other guys followed suit. Soon we're chanting and screaming.

"Party at my place tomorrow night, bastards!" Jake screamed again. Everyone yelled agreement with that.

"Hey, good job, Stone." Natasha Duncan, one of the cheerleaders, came up to me smiling. She put a hand on my arm.

I heard whistles all around us as the team noticed Natasha by my side.

"Make sure that's not another Banks, Stone!" someone yelled from the crowd of soccer players and everyone guffawed.

"Don't mind them." I said apologetically to Natasha, who looks very hot in her red and black cheerleading uniform. A tiny sparkle from her middle made me notice the cute belly button ring she have down there.

"Oh, it's alright. I don't mind." she said huskily, then stepped closer to me. "So, about the party this Saturday. You coming?"

My eyebrows shot up in surprise as she smiled more invitingly at me. She's real pretty with her dark hair and light gray eyes.

Another image flashed before my eyes. It was a set of vulnerable chocolate brown eyes..

"Yeah, of course." I answered, ignoring my thoughts. "What about you?"

"I'll be there." she promised and tilted her face up towards me. I was thinking about whether to lean down on her when I saw Alex and father coming my way. With them is the ever annoying Charlie Raven and.. who's that man beside her?

I stepped back from Natasha abruptly. She had followed my gaze and understood all too well. Natasha smiled and walked away, leaving me to talk with my family.

"What in the world are you doing flirting with that little whore-" Alex attacked me but my father immediately shut her mouth with his hand.

"That was quite a game, Nick." my father smiled at me. "Don't mind your sister's rudeness. We'll find a way to alter this weird behavior of hers soon."

I chuckled as I took Alex's arm and held her next to me, my arm around her.

"No need, Dad. She's always like that to all the girls she thinks I'm dating. I'm used to it." I said, messing with her hair.

"Stop it, Nicolas!" she growled.

"Oh, by the way, Nick, this is Devin Bishop. He's here for some business, and I invited him to watch your game." Marco introduced me to the man beside Charlie, who's unusually quiet. "This here is Nicolas Stone, Devin. My soccer superstar."

I blushed furiously as I shook Devin's hand. Why does my dad have to make it damn corny and awkward?

"I was impressed at your skill, Nick. You planning on going pro?" he praised me with his unusual rusty voice. His golden eyes are also trained at me.

I noticed how handsome this man is, and that he seems like an important person. His demeanor says so.

"Thanks. I'm not planning on anything yet." I smiled at him.

"Ah. Well, college is around the corner." he noted, but his tone suggested he's just making light conversation.

"I know, right? Kids seem to grow up fast this days.." my father said, and they fell to conversation only grown ups understood.

"Why Natasha Duncan? That bitch is lethal!" my twin punched me on the arm, glaring up at me.

"Ow! That hurt, Alex! My body is still tired and worn out.."

"I don't care! You can date whoever you want but not her! She's trouble and you know that!"

Alex never tells me who to date or not. She'll just drop hints about not liking a particular trait of the girl I'm dating, nothing more.

Maybe it's about that rumors about Natasha arrested multiple times for drunk driving and being high on something else. There's also those stories going around about her and her friends making serious pranks around. But being a daughter of a rich family, she just bails out always.

I just laughed at my sister's protectiveness. I messed her hair again, earning reprimands from her.

"Congratulations, Stone." a smooth voice cut in. I looked around to see Charlie smiling at us, her eyes hidden again behind those aviator glasses.

"Thanks." I said, nodding at her. She had her hair up in a sloppy bun and she's also wearing the school's pirate shirt like Alex.

"I knew my good luck kiss will help you." she added cockily, her grin wide.

I felt myself blush for the third time this day. The first one was when Alex gave me a kiss on the cheek when the team were still on the changing room. She went there to give me my soccer shirt that I left in the car. She showed me Charlie's text, I almost snapped her phone in two when the team laughed at me.

I'm sorely tempted to add color again to that fading bruises on Charlie's face.

I was about to retort at her when my father and Devin returned their attention to us.

"Cassandra." Devin called at Charlie, and she immediately went to his side. I frowned at that. Who is this man?

"Hit the shower, Nick. We'll be waiting for you on the parking lot." Dad said, pulling me away from my thoughts. I just nodded at him before going to the changing room.

When I looked back, Charlie and Devin are talking. I saw him hold her hand and tugged her away.

I was already in front of my locker, about to open it, when I notice my tight fists trembling with anger.
