"Are you comfortable?"
The little girl beside me just nodded, still looking out through the window of my car. I focused my attention on driving and let her be.
"Devin's paying you." Charlie stated after a minute. Her tone wasn't accusing, but more like confirming her suspicions.
"Yes." I said, nodding. "You're my current job, Charlie."
My job is to guard people, to make sure they will be unharmed. I worked for Devin Bishop before, when he had to travel to South America for a business venture.
I liked working for him, he was a nice guy. I knew all about his daughter, Cassandra Charlotte Raven, even before she came to my little town to hide. He often talk about her.
When he sent Charlie to me, Devin told me that she's got problems. He failed to specify what it was, he just told me she needs to be away, so that she could be a normal teenager.
I've been keeping tabs on her since she came, even arranged her papers so she can be on the same school my kids are in. They provide security, and quality on education. It was just luck when she bumped to my daughter, Alex, and became friends with her.
"I looked on your files, Charlie." I informed her.
That got a reaction out of her. She sat up, rigid on her seat. Her pale face seemed more alert.
"Devin never told me what your problem was. I didn't know what it is I had to guard you from. But I know now. And you've got to help me help you."
I watched on the corner of my eyes as she gripped at her seatbelt tightly. She managed a stiff nod afterwards.
"What do you want me to do?"
I smiled. We got a lot to do.

"Stone!"
I saw Jake waving at me, beckoning me to sit with them for lunch. With him are a couple of our teammates and cheerleaders.
Including Natasha Duncan. She smiled and cleared a seat for me.
"I thought I wouldn't see you all day." Natasha whispered seductively on my ear, leaving tiny kisses on it.
I just smiled at her, unmoved by her charm. I let her cling to my arm. Somehow I feel like myself again.
I need to remind myself not to let Charlie Raven touch me again.
Especially with her lips. In any part of my body.
I shuddered. I could still feel that delicious tingle on my skin..
"Hey, where's Kenneth?" I asked, trying to distract myself, looking around and settling beside Natasha.
"Restroom." Jake said, then waved his hand in a never-mind-him gesture. "So, what happened to Charlie? Is she alright?"
Natasha narrowed her eyes at us, listening intently. I was glad to see Kenneth sauntering to our table.
"Hey." he nodded at me. "How's Charlie?"
"Well-"
"Why? What happened?" Dustin poked his head between us.
He pushed Jake and sat beside me, his boyishly handsome face curious and worried.
"Uh.. Well, she fainted earlier. And was advised to have some rest. Dad picked her up." I informed them.
"Yeah, she didn't seem fine earlier." Dustin said, then frowned even more. "Wait, why would your father pick her up?"
