A/N : Literally, I have been sick on and off for like 3 weeks... I don't understand. And this whole election thing isn't helping... On the bright side, it's Riker's 25th birthday! He's so old! Haha...

Chapter 20

Rydel POV

I heard a lot of shouting, and then a door slam. I opened the door, and saw Mikayla leaving and Riker walking the opposite way.

"Riker! Where are you going!?" I shouted.

"To get some air!"

"Wait up!"

I ran after him until I caught up. I know he hates the dark, and the fact that he's walking down the street at night without his phone, must mean something's really upsetting him.

"Rik, what's wrong?"

"None of your business."

"Riker, I just want to help, ok? Please tell me. You always tell me everything."

"Jeff kissed Mikayla, ok!?"

"What?"

"Mikayla didn't know I had a twin, and I caught them kissing in the hallway!"

"Riker, I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding."

"Well whatever it was, Jeff wasn't doing anything to stop it! He wasn't trying to push her away or anything, Rydel! He let her kiss him!"

Riker broke into tears.

"Look. I'm sure he didn't mean to."

"Then why'd he have to do it!?"

"Riker, calm down."

"I can't calm down! I've had a huge crush on Mikayla for years, and now everything's ruined!"

"Riker, let's go back to the house and talk, ok?"

I grabbed his wrist, and started walking him back to our house. He was crying into his other hand. I could tell he was really upset.

We sat down on the front steps. I put my arm around my brother, pulling him closer.

"Riker, I think if you call Mikayla and talk about what happened, I'm sure she'll give you guys another chance. Didn't she give you another chance when you threw up on their date? She's a nice girl, and I'm sure if you guys talk it out, everything will turn out alright."

I nudged him.

"Rik."

"What!?"

"Did you scare Jeff again? Were you yelling at him?"

"Yes, I was yelling at him. But he deserved it! He knew it was wrong, and he let Mikayla kiss him anyways!"

I sighed.

"Let's go inside, and see if Jeff's ok. I want you guys to talk."

"I'm not talking to him."

"Riker, don't be stupid about this."

"No, Rydel. I am not talking to him!"

I sighed.

"You know, you're so stubborn sometimes."

"Good."

"At least come inside."

I grabbed his arm, and pulled him inside. He went to the living room. Everyone was sort of quiet. I don't think they knew what to do or say. Everyone could hear his shouting from the living room.

I went upstairs to look for Jeff. I found Rocky in the hallway, knocking at the bathroom door.

"Is Jeff in there?" I asked.

"Yeah. He's crying, but he won't open the door."

I knocked on the door.

"Jeff, it's Rydel. Please open up."

I got no response. All I heard were quiet cries.

"Rocky, go get Riker. And don't take no for an answer."

Rocky left.

"Jeff, please open up. I just want to talk."

Rocky came back up the stairs, literally dragging Riker against his will. It's a good thing Rocky's stronger than Riker...

"Why did you make him bring me up here?" Riker asked, annoyed.

"Jeff's crying in there, Riker."

"Good."

"Rik, come on. Have a heart. He's your brother, and he's crying because you yelled at him."

Riker crossed his arms.

I thought of something that might make Riker try to help.

"Riker, you're not going to be able to shower before bed unless you get him out," I said, smirking at him.

Riker can't sleep unless he showers before bed. So I knew this would annoy him.

Riker groaned, and tried to get away from Rocky, but Rocky held onto him tight.

"Fine, I'll try to get him out. But you two go away. If I have to talk to him, I'm talking to him in private."

"Riker, it better be talking, and not yelling. You better be nice to him."

"Why are you always on his side?"

"I'm on his side because what you're doing is wrong, Riker."

"Whatever."

"Riker, don't make him feel any worse. He's had a hard enough childhood. Be nice."

"No promises."

"Riker!"

"I'll forgive him, Rydel, but that doesn't mean I'm not still mad at him."

"Fine. At least get him out of there and talk to him."

Riker POV

Rocky let go of me, and both of them went back downstairs, leaving me alone in the hall. I knocked on the bathroom door.

"Jeff, it's Riker... Can you please open the door? I promise I'm done yelling."

I didn't get anything but crying in response.

I sighed.

"Jeff, please open the door."

Nothing.

I grabbed the key from above the door frame, and unlocked the door.

"Oh god, Jeff! Why would you do that!?"
