The lonely truth...

   Gaara held my hand tightly and brought us on top of the roof. He sat on one of the benches and ate his lunch.
I approached him and said, "Am I supposed to thank you?"
He looked at me and said, " I cannot allow you to be hurt nor be threatened on my account..."
I sat on the ground and ate my lunch.
"You said that you don't judge others unless you truly know them, you're the only one who ever said that to me...People just doesn't know how it feels to be lonely," he said.
I looked surprised and asked, "then...why do you threaten people, why don't you be more friendly and talk more?"
"So that's what they say about me huh?"
"Wait, are you saying it's not true? About threatening people when they try to sit with you?"
"I allow them to sit with me but they just make fun of me after, after that experience, I just threaten instead,"
"Who would even make fun of you? I mean you're quite tough and strong right?' I asked.
The bell rang, he used his sand to bring us down from the roof, as I was looking down, lots of other people are looking and chattering.
"Hey, are you guys dating?" A voice came.
"Hey, it's that Gaara-Kun?" A familiar voice came.
Gaara used his sand to make way, he grabbed my hand again and said, "Pass through here, so that they won't bother you,"
I followed him and reached the end of the sand path.
"Why are you doing this for me?" I asked.
Gaara looked at me and said, "because you're the only person that understands me..."
"So...are we friends?" I asked.
He nodded and said, " I'll be there when you need me,"
I smiled.
We went to class and sat. The teachers weren't there yet so I went to the far end of the class so that I could talk to Hinata.

"Hey, Hinata!" I said as I go towards her.

Before I could reach her, other students started asking me questions. "Hey, (y/n), are you and Gaara dating?" Another identical question asked again. "Do you like him?" "Did you guys make out?"Wait what? That question stroked me, I'm getting annoyed, I need to take control of this situation fast. "For your information, we're NOT dating! We're just friends okay?" I shouted.Almost everyone heard me, even Gaara. I went back to my goal, to talk to Hinata. Suddenly, the teacher came in the classroom. Ugh. "Hinata! I'll talk to you after school!" I whispered before I went back. "Alright, so today we will be preparing for the preliminary exam, I will be announcing names for the first round." "Kiba, you'll be with Naruto." "Hey! I already fought him during the Chunin exams!" Naruto complained. "You'll get another try then, besides you're still Genin after all'" Everyone laughed. "Before I continue, please DO NOT speak when I am speaking, or else you'll stay after school with me," Kurenai-Sensei warned.Everyone remained silent. "Alright, Sari and Hinata," "Sakura and Shikamaru," "Temari and Neji," "Kankuro and Lee," "TenTen and (y/n)," "Matsuri and Ino," "Karin and Sai," "Choji and Shino,"  "And lastly, Gaara and Sasuke,"
"When the battles begin, lots of other teachers will be observing your battle, so if you lose, but put up an excellent fight, you'll move to the next level,"
Chattering started and the bell rang. I went to my locker and grabbed my bag, I just remembered! I have to talk to Hinata... "Hey, Hinata!" I shouted.She stopped walking and said, "Hey, (y/n)!" "Hey, sorry I didn't sit with you during lunch because-" "Because Gaara asked you to be with him," she continued. "No! He did not ask me, he forced me as in he pulled me and brought me on the roof..." "Maybe he likes you," Hinata giggled. "No...well, actually a bunch of girls just appeared to me and asked questions about me and Gaara and Gaara saw that they are threatening me, so he said that if they threaten me again, they'll get it, then he pulled me and brought on the roof, end of story," I said hastily. "But I still don't get the part why he pulled you..." Hinata said softly.I remained silent and said, "Oh, look! There's my home over there, I'll see you tomorrow!" I lightly hugged her. "B-but, your home is that way," she said pointing to the left. She shrugged and said, "Was it something I said?"
