Unbeatable Team!

"Okay, fine, the reason why I like you is because..." he said as his face slowly turns red.

            "Okay, do it for the date, Naruto!" Naruto said to himself while he slapped himself and closed his eyes.
He turned to the opposite direction of mine.
           "The reason why I like you is because you're too... to look at and no one admitted it, also you proved that you were so...ong... Phew," Naruto mumbled.
Kushina came and punched him.
            "Where did all your loud energy go huh? Speak louder!" she yelled.
Naruto sweat dropped.
            "So you didn't hear any of that?" Naruto asked.
            "Yeah, you were just mumbling to yourself even though I'm just beside you," I said.
            "Well, I did say it, so that's the deal, we'll go on the date tomorrow, hmpf," Naruto said proudly with his arms crossed.
            "WE COULDN'T HEAR YOU SO THAT DOESN'T COUNT, PLAY IT FAIRLY OR ELSE YOU DON'T DESERVE HER!" Kushina yelled and punched him again as her hair started floating around like an octopus tails.
Minato stood up and calmed her.
            "O-okay, f-fine!" Naruto stuttered with fear.
            "Come on, Naruto, just tell us," Minato said.
            "Not in front of her!" Naruto said as he pointed at me.
            "Hm, I guess no date for you then, I'll go with someone else then," I said, pretending.
            "NO! FINE! The reason why I liked you so much because you were so pretty, smart, skillful and strong!" Naruto squealed hastily and his face turned red after.
            "I guess that worked," Kushina said as she looked at me.
            "Alright, so when's the date?" I asked with a smirk.
            "M-maybe on-" Naruto stuttered and turned away from us, still embarrassed.
            "It's over, Naruto, there's nothing to be embarrassed about, but...  since we're in this situation, we should go on a date as best friends," I said.
            "Just best friends?" Naruto asked.
            "Yeah, because if we do go on a date as couples then Hinata would kill me," I said.
           "Isn't Hinata the Hyuga girl?" Kushina asked.
           "Yeah, she's my best friend and...  well, she also likes Naruto," I said softly.
           "She does?" Naruto asked.
           "Yeah, I told you didn't I?" I asked.
           "Uhh, yeah, sorry I wasn't listening," he said.
I face palmed.
           "Anyways, Naruto and I have some training later, so we'll get going," Minato said.
           "Can (y/n) come?" Naruto asked.
           "Up to her," he replied.
           "Well, it's been a long day and I need to get some rest so maybe some other time?" I asked.
           "Of course, we'll be leaving, thanks again!" Minato said as he left.
           "Thank you and I'm glad I visited you today," Kushina said as she hugged mom.
           "Come visit anytime," mom said.
           "See you later," Kushina said to me as she touches my nose.
           "Bye, (y/n)!" Naruto said.
           "Bye!" I said.
I closed the door and locked it.
           "(y/n), come here and sit," mom said.
           "Yes, mom?" I asked as I sat on the chair.
           "I hope these silly relationships aren't getting the way of your studies?" she asked.
           "Of course not, I have full control of it," I said.
           "Exactly how?" mom asked.
           "First I'll become their best friend then tell them that someone likes them and it will go on," I said.
          "Just don't focus too much of your time on them," mom said.
          "I understand my productivity, you don't have to worry too much about me as usual," I said with a sigh.
          "But mom, what do you mean you've put your past behind?" I asked.
          "It's about your father, since the day he died, I've shut myself, isolated from the world around me and I needed some time to recover," she replied.
          "I didn't know these things can get so serious," I said.
           "I didn't just spend my time in the house mourning," she said. "I trained you to become the ninja your father and I was before,"
            "And that made me confident to come back to the world, knowing that the only person I love will be safe no matter what happens," she continued.
            "Okay," I said softly.
            "Sorry, I got carried away there, so what happened in school, who did you stay after school with?" she asked.
            "I stayed after school with Sasuke and his older brother, Itachi," I replied.
            "Itachi?" she asked.
            "Yeah, I think he's a jonin," I said.
            "I met him before but unsure where and when exactly," mom said.
            "You did?" I asked.
            "He's an Uchiha right?" she asked.
            "Yup, he has the Sharingan as his kekei Genkai," I said.
            "I see..." mom said softly.
            "What is it, what's wrong," I asked.
            "N-nothing, just go to your room, it's getting awfully late," she said.
            "B-but it's just six," I said.
            "Then study," she said.
            "Okay," I said as I went upstairs.
            "That was weird..." I said to myself as I shut my door.

The next day

I went to Hinata's place and walked with them after school. I told Hinata everything that happened except for the part of Naruto.
             "T-that really happened?" Hinata asked.
             "Yeah, four girls in our class 'bullied' me," I said.
             "Who are the four girls exactly?" Neji asked.
             "You'll see," I said cheerfully.
We went to class after dropping off Hanabi.
             "Alright, so almost half the class isn't here today," Asuma-Sensei said.
             "Serve those girls right," Naruto said.
             "I wonder what Principal Tsunade do to them," I said.
             "They're probably suspended," Sasuke said.
             "Oh," I said softly.
             "I feel bad for them," I said.
             "You shouldn't they tried to hurt you," Sasuke said.
             "I know but the only reason they did that was because of jealousy," I said softly.
              "That'll teach them,"
              "I hope so," I said.

              "Alright, so Temari, Gaara, and Kankuro are away on a trip, whereas the rest of the absentees are excused for other matter," Asuma-Sensei said.
             "I have a few letters I need to hand out for your parents to see," Kurenai-Sensei said as she hands out the papers.
            "The week after the preliminary exams, we'll be going on field trips to different cities," she said.
           "Which cities are we going to?" Sakura asked.
            "Thank you for asking, I will be explaining after," she replied.

            "You'll be put into teams, well, this is more of a competition between teams, you'll be given three days to gather information about that certain city, then we'll gather back to the designated area I'll be telling you and move on to the next city," she said.
Naruto raised up his hand.
            "Can we choose our teammates?" he asked.
            "I'll be choosing," Kurenai-Sensei said.
            "Why can't we choose?" Naruto asked.
            "Listen to her idiot!" Sakura shouted.
            "That's quite alright, Sakura," Kurenai-Sensei said. "The reason why I'll be choosing is because I know better to which one of you works well based on your skills,"
            "When are you going to tell us whose team we're gonna be in?" Naruto asked.
            "Sometime next week," she replied.
            "Since it's Friday, we'll do something fun, as a small class," Asuma-Sensei said. "This time I'll allow you to pick, 3 members per group,"

Everyone stood up and looked around. I went to Hinata instantly, waiting to see who'll be in our group. Shikamaru and Choji are together, also waiting for one more member.
           "Hey, Sakura! Come join our team, we could use a medic," Shikamaru said.
           "But I'm with Ino," she said.
Naruto approached us.
           "Hey, can I be in your team?" Naruto asked.
           "Hey, (y/n) let's be a team, we'll be unbeatable," Sasuke said with a smirk.
           "Hey! I asked first," Naruto shouted.
           "Uhh, Sasuke, I think you should join the other groups, they could use some strong ninja to help them win," I said.
           "Just to distribute it, not that I don't like you, remember that!" I added.
           "Pff," he said and walked away.
           "Yay! I get to be with (y/n)-"I budge Naruto's shoulder, making slightest movements with my head to point at Hinata.
           "Oh, uh, I get to be with Hinata and (y/n)!" Naruto rephrased.
Hinata's face lit up.
           "I'm glad you're on our team, Naruto-Kun," Hinata said happily.

Sakura walked towards Sasuke.
            "Hey, Sasuke, wanna join my team?" she asked.
Ino came along too.
            "Yeah, wanna join our team, please?" Ino asked.
Sasuke looked at me.
            "Whatever," Sasuke replied.
Both girls jumped up and down.
            "Yay! Sasuke is on our team!!" Ino shouted.

            "Hey, Kiba, join our group!" Choji shouted.
            "Sure," Kiba replied.

Lee went towards Shino.
             "Lets be a team, with my amazing taijutsu skills, we'll be unbeatable!" Lee said with a thumb up.
            "I have no choice," Shino said with a sigh.
Sai went towards them and said, "May I be in your team too?"
            "Of course," Lee said with a thumb up.
            "Neji is left," Hinata said.
            "Big brother Neji, come join our team," Hinata said.
            "But it's only three per group," he said.
            "We'll make an exception, Neji you may join their group," Asuma-Sensei said.
            "So we have two sensory-type ninjas,"Naruto said.
            "Nope, three," I said.
            "You're a sensory-type ninja?" Naruto asked.
            "Yeah, she found me without looking, she just senses my chakra," Hinata said.
            "Cool, we'll be unbeatable now!" Naruto said.
