After telling her everything that happened the past week...
She looked down, still processing the information I gave her. Eager for her to give an answer.
"So, tell me, what do you think of this?" I asked softly.
"You certainly are in a bit of a pickle," she said.
"Well, what I think you should do is just play along with Sasuke until the end of the week and just ditch him," Temari said proudly with a chuckle.
"But what if he hates me forever? I don't want to lose any friends," I said.
"You're just going to lose the status of dating, but he still can be your friend," Temari said.
"I just don't know what it's like losing a friend, because... I have homeschooled my whole life except my fourteenth year," I said.
"Hn, you're definitely a cool person to hang out with, you're popular, smart, skillful and kind hearted, you're unique, no wonder lots of guys like you," she said.
"Really?" I asked with my cheeks feel burning up.
"Temari... can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Hm?"
"Why did your mom look surprised when she heard my name?" I asked.
"Well... because... Mom's 'favorite' child is Gaara and they're really close, I heard them talking about you and one time, we teased him about liking the new girl..." she went on.
"I see... well... let's go down now, they're probably waiting," I said.
"Wait!" she said and stopped me from standing.
"I just want to thank you for trusting me... and telling me all this... but why do you trust me?" she asked.
"Because you're my friend, anyways, let's go," I said.
She gave a tender smile and followed me down. We did our work, Kankuro was watching his wide flat screen T.V.
"Kankuro! You're not doing anything to help!" Temari yelled.
"I'm not in your group so there's no reason why I should help," he said.
"You can help by not watching, it's distracting us," Temari muttered.
Their argument went on until someone spoke.
"You two are a disgrace, can't you see we have guests?" Gaara said sternly.
Both of them froze and looked at him with surprised faces as if they never seen him do that before. Suddenly, their mom came by.
"That's right, have some respect for our guests, Kankuro, go to your room and watch there," she ordered.
"Pff," Kankuro made that sound and went upstairs.
"So, (y/n) have you researched anything about clans?" Temari asked.
"Yup, I have a list of them in Ninsoft word," I replied.
"Neji, your clan is so cool, I read that you could see tiny critters like ants with your Byakugan!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, but your clan is equally great as well, many said that your clan descended from ours so we're blood like," Neji said.
"What clan?" Gaara asked.
Neji and I both exchanged glances.
"M-my clan?" I stuttered nervously.
"Yes, why the hesitation?" he asked.
"Well..." I said as I scratched the back of my neck.
"She has the blood of an Uchiha," Neji admitted.
Gaara looked surprised.
"I see, well, is that why you dated that Uchiha?" he asked, with no expression in his voice.
I facepalmed. How many times do I have to explain to people, I just hope that Temari would explain it for me instead... I looked at Temari, giving her a glance, an urge for her to explain.
"Uh, Gaara, I'll explain it to you later," Temari said.
"Is there something that I am missing?" Gaara asked.
"It's best if Temari explains it after then everything would make sense," I said reassuringly.
We did our work, Gaara went to his room, Temari followed to tell him everything. I'm just worried Temari might say the wrong thing or something. So, I made a hand sign, using my Jutsu to cover my chakra, no one can sense me. I went upstairs, with a bright light shining from a room, hearing two voices talking, I tiptoed slowly and stopped right beside the door.
"That's why she dated Sasuke, for a silly mistake she made," Temari said.
"I see," Gaara said.
She seemed to have explained it so quickly. Suddenly, I felt a chakra coming, I looked behind, it's Neji, I made "shh" sound.
"Who's there?" Temari asked and dashed out of the room.
I quickly grabbed Neji's hand and made a hand sign and teleported back to the living room. Phew, that was close. Neji looked at me with a half-smile.
"What?" I asked.
"Since when did you learn that Jutsu? The ability to transport other people with you?" he asked. "I heard it's an extremely high ranked Jutsu only a few can master."
"Well..."
Suddenly, stomping of footsteps came from upstairs.
"(y/n)!" Temari shouted.
"Y-yes?" I asked.
"Were you eavesdropping?" she asked with an evil smile.
"I... it's getting late, my mom said I can only stay for a few hours so I think it's time," I said with a little laugh at the end. "Come on, let's go Neji,"
"That's right, I'll walk you home safely," Neji said, playing along.
"(y/n), snap it, I know you did, and you don't have to lie to me, after what we've been through, I actually consider you like my... sister," she said softly at the end.
"Sorry... I did... anyways, we really have to go... but thanks for inviting us around, sis," I said with a giggle at the end.
"Sure thing, little sissy," she said with a giggle.
We chuckled. Gaara and Neji didn't seem to get what's going on, but I think it's just a bond between me and Temari.
"Do you really have to go?" she said.
"I'd love to stay, but I promise to visit sometime this week okay?" I said and gave her a light hug.
"I'd always wanted a sister," she whispered.
"Now you do," I said with a sheepish smile.
I went to Gaara and placed out my hand, waiting for a handshake. Before I knew it, I felt warm arms embraced lightly around my back... did Gaara just hugged me?
