c27: Awkward lunch time

I went to my locker and grabbed my lunch. Everyone was staring at me weirdly for having two Anbu guards at my side, even one of the Anbu guard didn't allow me to be with Neji nor Hinata. I went to the lunch tables where I usually sit, with my friends.
"(y/n), We're going to scatter, we'll watch you from afar instead," an Anbu guard said. I could tell that it's mom since I remember what mask she wore, her voice changed by the mask though.
"Finally, thanks," I said.
I sat with my friends, the table today seemed quite full so I had to sit on the edge of the table, barely enough space while Temari and her siblings, Kankuro and Gaara sat across us.
"Do you mind if my brothers can sit with us?" Temari asked.
We all nodded in agreement. The siblings sat across us
"(y/n), why do you have Anbu guards watching over you?" Ino asked.
I sighed. "Well, something happened last night but... it's alright now," I said.
Gaara, Temari and Kankuro glanced at each other and quickly looked back at their food. I looked at them suspiciously, they couldn't have known about last night... right?
"Anyways, how's you and Sasuke going? It seems that he's not here today and yesterday," Tenten said.
"Well, the last time I saw him... he's sick so maybe his sickness went on for quite a while," I said.
I've been wondering the same, why hasn't he hasn't been coming to school? Was it about the 'thing' he did to me, that's somehow affecting him? Surely he can't just ditch school because of that...
"Hey... Gaara, so what made you to finally sit here with us?" I asked.
"I just followed Temari, I didn't expect it to be here," he replied.
Everyone else talked amongst themselves while I was talking with the siblings.
"Hey, (y/n), it's your birthday tomorrow right?" Temari asked.
I nodded. "Yeah... I hope you'll come tomorrow," I said.
"Of course we'll come, I mean I'm like your sister right?" she asked.
I nodded happily. I wanted to ask them if they know anything about what happened last night but I'm not sure if it's the right time. They seem to know about it so I'll somehow... possibly find the person who saved me.
Suddenly, a blue eyed blond with a broad smile jumped us causing Sakura and Ino to freak out. He laughed. "Naruto!" Sakura shouted.
"I scared you there, didn't I (y/n)-Chan?" Naruto asked.
"Just a tiny bit, so what's up?" I asked.
"Oh yes, I was just here to tell you that we're coming over for dinner tonight," he said.
"Oh really? Does my mom know?" I asked.
He nodded excitedly. "Anyways, see you later... and hi Hinata!" he said as he waved at Hinata. Her cheeks showed a tint of red. then everyone in the table looked at her causing her face to be redder. Suddenly, there was loud noises and cheerings of girls, we all looked back seeing a crowd of people there, mostly girls. From the middle, they made way for a familiar looking face... Sasuke.
"It's Sasuke!" Ino and Sakura said at the same time with hearts filled in their eyes.
"Sasuke really gets the girls huh?" I asked.
"Too obvious," Tenten muttered.
"But you don't seem attracted to him," I said.
She laughed. "I did before I have to admit he's attractive and skillful but there's a whole other side of him that makes me not a fangirl if you know what I mean," she said.
I nodded. "I understand," I said.
"Tenten used to fangirl all over him like Ino and Sakura, she was so crazy about him that she-" Temar said, stopped as soon as Tenten covered her mouth with a nervous smile. Temari slapped her hand off.
"Temari," Tenten hissed with a glare.
"Hey, we're not too crazy about Sasuke," Sakura said with giggle.
"Yeah... we're not," Ino said, fiddling her fingers.
"So now you like Mister long hair?" I asked Tenten.
She giggled. "Mister long hair?" she asked mischievously. I nodded. "Yeah, I call him that, not that I'm making fun of him," I said.
"Yeah, his long hair looks so soft I wished I could touch it and hug it the whole day," she said with her cheeks flustered.
"If you try, he's really warm, and his hair is as soft as silk, I actually need some tips from him," I said.
"Y-you... tried?" she asked.
I looked off to Hinata. "Well... there were some situations where I got a chance to, but nothing personal," I said.
She seemed to be a little disappointed hearing that. I touched her shoulder to ease her. "Hey, you okay?" I asked. She looked up with a smile. "I'm good, it's just that you're lucky to get a hug from him... He doesn't usually," she said.
I smiled. "Don't worry... Maybe I can help you out," I said. Her face lit up. "Thanks... I guess," she said softly.


The loud noises came closer to our table. Sasuke please don't come here and do a scene, I wouldn't be surprised anyways. The raven haired walked by, as he passed by, he eyed me from the corner of his eyes with a smirk and broke our gaze as he went onward. There's something different about him... He usually talks to me but I guess something changed him.
"Sasuke!" Sakura and Ino exclaimed like a true fangirl with their eyes stared at him admiringly.
I sighed. How lucky am I to have the guys everyone likes to like me... Kankuro stood up and said, "I'll go there to my group, I have to tell them something." Temari nodded. Leaving Gaara a lot of space. I stood up, and sat beside Gaara. Everyone looked at me weirdly. "What's wrong? I asked. They all laughed.
"Why did you suddenly decide to sit with Gaara?" Temari asked.
"Because there was space? I needed more space because it's so cramped," I replied.
"Sure you did," Ino teased.
I rolled my eyes and finished up my lunch. "Hey Temari, are you done with the group project?" I asked. She nodded, "Gaara did all the work but then he left it to me because he had to do something last night," she replied. Gaara made a death glare at Temari. She groaned and looked off.
"Oh uh, okay..." I replied.
Suddenly, I heard a voice from beside. "May I sit here?" Neji asked. I nodded.
"Sit here, Neji!" Tenten exclaimed.
"It's quite alright, I'll sit beside (y/n), I don't want to invade your personal space," Neji said as I moved to the left.
My leg touched Gaara's so I moved back to the right and I bumped into Neji's. Ugh, what about my personal space?! It's fairly squeezy but I just froze at where I sat, each of my leg bumped against Gaara at the left and Neji at the right. I felt something about Gaara, his chakra seemed so much like the one I felt before I fell asleep... could it be Gaara? Hm, possibly...
"So much for personal space," I muttered under my breath.
"So what made you move here?" I asked Neji.
"I just came back, I had a meeting and they released us extra early so I don't know where else to spend my time," he replied.
"Or is it an excuse to be with (y/n)?" Temari said with a mischievous smile, everyone else looked at us with giggles.
I sighed. "Pff, it's nothing like that right, Neji?" I asked. He nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, a girl with red hair and red eyes with glasses came to our table and slammed it, with her eyes pierced at me, I glared back. "Have you seen Sasuke?!" she asked as she pointed at me.

"I seen him like ten minutes ago but I'm not sure where he is now," I shrugged.
She went running away with a group of girls with her.
"People have been scaring us like crazy," Ino said.
We all nodded in agreement. "So, (y/n) who're you dating now?" Sakura asked. I pursed my lips. Why does Sakura have to bring this up in a situation like this?! I looked at the both boys beside me, with death glares at the corner of their eyes. I sighed.
"I'm dating nobody," I replied, breaking the silence.
"Hm, you should date my little brother right here." Temari teased as Gaara made another death glare at her but this time she glared back. She shrugged. "I was just kidding, take a joke for once," she said as everyone else laughed except for me and Neji.
"Gaara is too cu- I mean cool to date a person like me, he's more of a brother to me," I said.
Everyone else laughed. Temari touched his brother's shoulder and tried to gain eye contact. "See Gaara? She thinks you're cute!" Temari exclaimed. "What?! I never said cute, I said cool!" I said with my arms crossed.
"But you were about to," she chuckled.
I felt my cheeks burning up, I shouldn't have said that. "(y/n), your cheeks are red!" Tenten exclaimed. I groaned. I looked at Neji, he seemed to be looking off at the clock, waiting for the bell to ring.
"What about Neji? You two look cute together!" Ino exclaimed.
Ugh, sometimes I feel like punching them in the face, but sadly I can't. I took a deep breath and exhaled loudly. Neji looked at me after hearing his name.
"Well... Neji's hair is too long and soft for me to date him," I joked.
Everyone laughed. "Then I'll cut it and make it the way you like it, will you date me then?" Neji asked with a smirk. Everyone made 'Oohs' and giggles.
"I was just kidding, don't change yourself to make me love you when I already do," I teased.
"As a brother and best friend," I added.
A tint of red appeared by his cheeks, he looked away. Everyone laughed. I looked at Tenten, even she's laughing. Tenten and I are on good terms after all.

"You two look too adorable! We'll see who you'll date... I bet it is one of them!" Sakura exclaimed.
"Obviously, one of them, it can't be both," Tenten said. "But I'm betting for Gaara."
Wow Tenten, you're making the situation even worse for Neji...
I sighed. Please, bell ring!!! Before I knew it, the bell rang! Finally, that was so awkward even if I tried to joke around, but I made the situation worst, oh well. I tried getting up but I waited till' Neji moves out. I finally got off, Gaara was next, I was waiting for everyone. Before I knew it, I saw someone sprinting towards us, it looks like Naruto, he was going too fast until he crashed to me. He fell on the floor while someone behind me caught me.
I looked back and smiled... it's...
