the two stood in silence for what felt like hours, dan kissing phil's tears from his cheeks. phil agreed to tell dan everything once he had stopped crying.

"i love you," phil whispers suddenly.

dan stares at him for a moment, replaying the words over and over in his head. they don't make sense. the letters turn to liquid, dribbling through his ears in a soggy mixture of confusion and shock.

"i-" dan stutters, his body frozen.

"no, listen," phil says quickly. "i still love you. and it hurts to say that because i fucking hate you, too. you hurt me so bad, dan. you messed up my life; you messed up my future and my friendship with chris and my sobriety and you messed up my head. and for that, i fucking hate you. so much."

dan starts to cry silently, tears tearing tracks through the muddy grime on his cheeks.

"but god, do i love you."

phil smashes his cold, soft lips to dans. a gasp escapes dan as his chest heaves with anticipation. dan grips his hands to phil's neck, lacing his fingers with his own. he rolls his body against phil's, moaning softly. he feels phil grin as he kisses down dan's neck, leaving hot, purple marks on his sensitive skin.

phil presses him gently against the wall, taking his time on dan's collar bones, pushing the orange jumpsuit down to gain more access. he kisses everywhere- along dan's shoulders, his neck, his jaw, his chest- leaving marks where he can. it's soft and calm, both of them easing back into the feel of one another.

as phil makes his way down dans torso, dans jumpsuit at his ankles, dan begins to sing quietly through gasped breaths.

'i'm sick of losing soulmates
won't be alone again
i can finally see
you're as fucked up as me
so how do we win?'

phil sings along, mumbling the lyrics against dan's soft skin as he kisses his hip bones, looking up at the younger boy who's eyes are fluttered closed as he sings between moans.

it's pure bliss and phil swears he could stay like that forever.
