Stubborn

With so much self-control which almost drove me to insanity, isinuot ko sa kaniya ang natanggal na brassierre. Halos mapugto ko ang sariling hininga nang makita ko kung paano mag react ang kaniyang katawan sa bawat paglapat ng kamay ko sa kaniyang balat. That only made it harder for me to control myself but I respect her the fullest when she said she didn't want anything to happen to us unless we're married. And I will wait until we do so, no matter how hard it is.

Natatawa ko siyang tiningnan habang umaahon siya mula sa malinis na sapa. She was undeniably a beauty. Nakatalikod siya sakin nang isuot niya sa kaniyang katawan ang blazer na umabot sa kaniyang binti. Kasunod akong umahon ay ako na mismo ang naglagay ng robe sa kaniya at niyakap siya mula sa likuran. This is a dream come true and I don't ever want to let her go. Not now. Not ever.

"You've got to let me go, Dante. It's past dinner already."

"Why? Are you hungry?"

She sighed and leaned to my touch. "No, pero maghahanda pa tayo."

"Someone's preparing the dinner already.."

I could see her pout which made me smile. "But I can't eat past five thirty."

"That's ridiculous, Ina. Don't tell me you're on a diet."

Hindi siya sumagot bagkus ay sinubukang kumawala sa mahigpit na yakap.

"Ayaw mo bang tingnan ang sunset? We have a very good view from here. Look, it's starting."

"Dante.. wow."

She looked stunned as she smiles. The sunset was crimson blood, it reflected to the waters that keeps on cascading down the falls. Hindi mapigilan ang tuwa habang nakatingin sa langit, mas lalong siniksik ni Ina ang sarili sa akin habang nasa balikat niya naman ang baba ko. I was trying to process everything, if her being here with me was just part of my delusion or it's real. Because if it's real, then I must thank God for giving me this wonderful day with her.

"It's really beautiful," saad niya saka hinawakan ang kamay ko na nasa baywang niya. She intertwined our hands and sighed deeply.

I smiled inwardly, happy of how she would suddenly be so comfortable after acting awkward awhile ago.

"But not as beautiful as you." I whispered to her ear which earned a laugh from her. Siguro naiisip niya na nagbibiro ako but I am so in love with her I could not see anything else more beautiful than her.

We sat down for a few more minutes with my hands snaked around her body. She was cuddling me while I lean on the tree for support.

"Ina, let's go?" I asked, caressing her hair softly, hindi maalis ang tingin sa rumaragasang tubig habang patuloy na tumatakbo ang isipan sa kaniya. I smiled when I saw how her head fell from my shoulder while softly breathing. It was calm and even.

I sighed, contented. Mahina kong tinapik ang pisngi ngunit hindi ito magising. Siguro'y napagod sa halos kalahating araw na pagbabad sa tubig. I carried her bride style while she's still asleep all the way home. The house was already visible when she suddenly stirred from her deep sleep. She mumbled something in her sleep before falling limp again.

This sight of her will forever be embedded in my mind, like how her every moves remained deep in my heart and soul.

Nagsimula man sa maling pagmamahal, alam kong sigurado ako sa kung ano ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. My longing for her never ended like wildfire in a forest, it continues until it burnt me.

"I love you, Catalina."

I whispered knowingly.

Isang oras bago ako nagpasyang gisingin siya. Noong una ay ayaw pang bumangon ngunit sa huli ay tumayo rin, tila wala pa sa sariling pumunta ng banyo. Her hair is messed up but she still looks beautiful.

"Kailangan mo nang kumain."

Napatingin siya sa orasan bago umirap. Mapaglaro ang kamay habang inaayos ang buhok na nakalugay.

"It's already 7 o'clock! Hindi na maganda ang food intake ko simula nong nag stay ako sa'yo."

"My God, Ina. Do you want to get sick?"

Pinanlakihan niya ako ng mata saka nagmamaktol na naupo sa dresser. "That's my way living a healthy lifestyle!"

"Oh, I'm sure part of living a healthy lifestyle is not eating dinner." I said full of sarcasm.

"Stop messing up with me."

"I will not until your definition of healthy lifestyle changes."

Naiinis na tumayo siya sa kaniyang kinauupuan. "But I'm not hungry!" She fighted back, now fully annoyed with my constant reprimand when her stomach suddenly grumbled.

"Sure, you're not hungry."

"Hindi ka na nakakatuwa, Dante."

I raised an eyebrow in total confusion, "it's quits, Ina. I'm not totally happy with your healthy lifestyle also."

Kinagat niya ang pang ibabang labi habang kunot-noong nakatingin sa akin.

"Whatever." Irap niya pa.

Nilapitan ko siya saka niyakap. Nong una'y lumayo pa siya ngunit nagpayakap din naman. "Let's eat, yeah? Hindi magandang nagpapalipas ka ng gutom."
