Chapter 2: Rude Much?

  As I approached him,trying not to stumble again into the large hole on the street, I realized that I didn't have an excuse to give to Jo and Cris as to why I was suddenly approaching some new guy that I had never met before.

   But as I turned around to give them a lame excuse, I found them nowhere to be seen. I made a full 360 before I saw that Jo and Cris were hovering over the new guy.

  "I guess I'm not the only one who's curious," I said through my laughter.

   Then Cris turned around, throwing me a clueless look that was transparent in my eyes.

  "What? I'm not doing anything bad, am I?" Cris replied.

  "Sometimes I feel like through your curly hair there is no brain," I said in a joking matter.

  Cris was beautiful with a slim, shaped body and curves in the right places. She said she got them from her mom who's latina and that's why she also had the glowing tanned skin. Her hair was one of her best features, besides her crystal blue eyes. She had a thick caramel toned mane with curls that sprung every which way. She was sometimes an airhead but most of the time a genius when it came to education but she could be really girly most of the time so people often mistaken her for an airhead  if they just took a glance at her.

  Jo, on the other hand, was my little nerd who was obsessed with anything that involved astronomy or spiritual matter. She was quite pretty too with thick straight jet black hair that reached her waist. She also had these cute square glasses that framed her heart-shaped face and dark brown doe eyes. She was very short considering she was the oldest of us by a couple of months but it just added to her cuteness.  She was skinny and curvy with creamy white skin that somehow always stayed clear. Cris often said she was jealous of her capabilites to be so cute. Jo always said she looked exactly like her dad who was from England as well as her mom.

  And I loved them both just the same.

  "Hello!? Earth to Alma!" Jo yelled in my face

  "Hmm?" I replied half dazed from my thoughts.

  "Did you hear a word I said?" Cris scolded.

  "No?" I said, trying to get out of this alive.

  "I said that we should go and introduce ourselves to the new guy. Don't you think he's cute?" Cris whispered.

  "Sure," Jo stated,  sounding very uninterested.

  "I guess so," I said, though I had known I was lying.

  "Okay then let's go!" Cris replied, sounding ecstatic.

   As we walked up to the new guy, we realized that the bus was coming so we started to rush over to meet him.

  "Hi. My name is Alma and these are my best friends Jo and Cris, I am your new neighbor and we're going to the same school," I said lamely.

  He then chuckled darkly like I had said something humorous.

  "Get lost. I really don't care if you're my new neighbor or that we go to the same school, so just grab your little girlfriends and leave me alone," he grumbled, a smooth, deep voice exiting his mouth filled with disdain.

  "Can we at least know your name?" Cris mumbled.

  "Alex," he replied.

  "Alex what?" I said, rolling my hands to gesture him to tell me what his last name is.

  "Rodriguez," he said with a grunt.

  Hmm, I had not expected him to be an Alex nor had I expected him to be of Mexican decent similar to Cris and I and I had certainly not expected him to be so cruel either.

  "Rude much?" I said, glaring at him.

  "Very," Alex replied, with a cold stare.

  Then the bus arrived and I wished that we hadn't introduced ourselves in the first place because  I couldn't sing The Gummy Bear song due to my sour mood. So I mumbled to myself in the coldest voice I could muster instead,

  "Oh I'm a gummy bear, I am a gummy bear. I'm a very freakin' stinkin' angry, gummy bear."
