Love the Bones of You

Tonight I'm making deals with the devil,

So that in you, I can revel.

Saying the words and drawing the signs,

All to ensure your heart is mine.

For I found love and I fell deep,

Now your soul I want to reap.

Need you to stay by my side,

But my time, I can bide.

The feel of you, your touch, your smile,

Will belong to me in a little while.

And if black magic I must perform,

Then for my soul, I will mourn.

Would it be so bad to belong to me?

Do I need to resort to potion in your tea?

I want no other; you're driving me insane,

Quickly becoming my existence's bane.

My devotion is yours, take it all,

Loyalty, care, my body is at your beck and call.

All I ask in return is your affection,

And I'll give you all of my protection.

I'm on my knees waiting for the stars to align,

Edging ever closer to calling you mine.

Something in the air is shifting, I can tell,

Maybe I just need the powers of hell.

And then you look at me in a different way,

In the cold, cruel light of day.

A flurry of something shoots through my chest,

Rattling, colliding, unable to let me rest.

Because very soon, you're going to be just fine,

And realise you've belonged to me all this time
