"Jablinsky, Derek!" Derek walked up to the Sorting Hat, and Professor Slughorn put it on him. We saw that Hat's brow crinkle for a second, and then it shouted loudly, "Hufflepuff!" Derek smiled and went to the cheering table that was now his house. "Jackson, Perseus!" I winced, but approached the stool, completely forgetting about Harry under my arm. We heard whispers break out, but paid them no mind. "Mr. Potter." Both Harry and I swung our heads to look at Professor McGonagall, standing there with her hip butted to the side. In sync we said, "Yes, Headmistress?" McGonagall looked taken aback for a second, but quickly covered it up. "Mr. Potter, I am afraid that you ne-" The Sorting Hat interrupted her. "I am sorry headmistress, but those of the same need to stay together. They have both been through hardships, and are seeking comfort from one another. I am sure you understand." Mrs. McGonagall looked at a loss for words, but she nodded her head, and gave Slughorn a long look. The great hall was dead silent, everyone staring at us. Mrs. McGonagall sighed, "Carry on you two." I nodded and held Harry tighter, him nestling his shoulder under mine. I sat on the stood and the Sorting Hat was placed on my head, Harry sat on one of my legs. I could feel Gizar want to move, but he stayed in my robes pocket. He faced me, too embarrassed to face the crowd. When the hat so much as touched my head, I could feel something incredibly powerful trying to get into my head. At first I thought it was an enemy wizard, but then I heard a voice. "Mr. Jackson, if I am to sort you, I have to see your memories." I looked at Harry, panic easily seen in my eyes. "Do not worry Mr. Jackson, I am sure that this will not hurt." This didn't ease my fears, but I let down my guard, only a hair, and put a wall around Harry, the gods, and anything that openly said I was no only a wizard. Hmmmmmmm. I feel a great power in you. Maybe you will be like our recently passed powerful wizards? You seem much stronger than them though.... I felt a slight push against my last defense wall, hiding the world' secrets. A wall, once more? You are a very guarded man for being in two wars I see. I grit my teeth at that, staring into Harry's eyes. It seems that you are very puzzling. You have a magnificent amount of intelligence, as well as loyalty. You can be sly and cunning, but bravery runs deep in your veins. I have never had someone as evenly cut as the founders were. "This man has no house. Any would do. His intelligence, the best. His loyalty, no bounds. His wit, no match. His bravery, such might. It would be preposterous a man to be like this very one here. Treat him well Hogwarts. He is the best of the mighty. Undefeated is he." With this, the Sorting hat closed it's eyes and mouth and waited to be taken away. I stared at Harry in shock while everyone started yelling and shouting. The teachers unable to stop them in their stupor. Slughorn gently grabbed the hat off my head and placed it on the special podium. I waited...... and waited........ and waited............ I soon got annoyed. Perce, can you do something about this? It's too loud. I smiled lightly at Harry. Of course little bro. I stood up, putting him on my chair. At this, some people stopped, wondering what I was about to do. I suddenly masked my face, squaring my shoulders, placing my hands behind my back as my feet went shoulder width apart. I pushed my chest forward and chin up, staring at the crowd in front of me. I was met with wide eyes of the Ravenclaws, but most of the other houses were still shouting. I took a deep breath. "Silence!" I used my army general voice to command the crowd. The great hall's sound disappeared so fast, even breathing could not be heard. I turned at a ninety degree angle and began pacing back and forth. "Now. Is this the way proud Hogwarts students act? I am truly disappointed if this is what I have been given. I expected so much more from you students. And the teachers, "I turned to face the long table of teachers just sitting there, staring in disbelief, "I would have thought you would be able to handle this riot with your magic. Apparently not. I will now address the fact of my evenness. I understand that, under normal circumstances, I would be put into whatever house the Sorting Hat believed fit me the best, as it has for all of you. Why it is different for me? I do not know. I believe that I should not be treated as different since I am like any other student, I will just choose my house?" I looked towards the Sorting Hat, silently sending it a message. It opened it's eyes and acknowledged me. "No. Perseus Achilles Jackson, the descendant of Godric Griffindor, will be treated the same, but different. Respect is to be given to him, he has lead and successfully won, two wars. Plenty of quests he has accomplished and trophies he has received. This man has been in much more than our very own Harry Potter. Let us welcome him, as he is brave enough to step into another war zone, with the Griffindors!" Loud, crazy cheering was heard as the Griffindors leapt to their feet and Harry ran to hug me. I smiled weakly at the remembrance, but hid it. I walked over to a spot with Harry's be we all sat down, the students quieted and Headmistress McGonagall cleared her throat. "Well, with the recent turn of events, I'd say this year might just be an interesting one. Let us continue with the students, shall we?" The students groaned in unison as they dreaded the long wait till the food. I snickered and snuck a piece of ambrosia into Gizar's pocket for being such a good boy throughout the ordeal. "Kennerhead Annika!" A short blonde girl stepped forward.
