I smiled as Professor Slughorn complimented both my twin and I on our perfectly done potion. Percy relaxed backwards, his arms crossed behind his head. You do know that we have more classes today, and that we have to clean this up, right? Percy groaned. I was having a few moments of piece, and you had to ruin it with your school nonsense. Who has time for that anyway? I snorted into my hand, but Professor Slughorn luckily didn't notice. Practically everyone but you. Percy rolled his eyes and I smiled as I grabbed the cauldron, moving it to the cleaning station, secretly not wanting to do this either. Percy's smirk when I came back to the table told me he knew as well. I rolled eyes playfully and grabbed my book, putting it in my bag. As everyone else began packing up, Percy slipped his stuff into his satchel and pushed his glasses up onto the top of his head. As the bell chimed softly, Gizar slipped onto Percy's shoulder and we stood up to leave. As we slipped out the door, Draco bumped into my shoulder, sending me to the floor. I caught myself before my glasses were smashed, and used my momentum to push myself back up. I huffed a relieved laugh at how helpful Percy's training was becoming before turning to a slightly stunned Draco. Percy was glaring furiously at the pale blonde, and I had to stifle another laugh. "It's fine Perce. Let's go." Percy huffed and walked over to my side, still glaring at Draco. I grabbed his arm and tugged lightly, steering him away from the possible physical altercation. "Oh? The mini Potter seems to be controlled by the celebrity himself. What, going to make him kill the Dark Lord for you?" I sighed and ignored Malfoy, wishing he would just go away. Sadly, my wishes usually never come true. "Do you care so little about others, Potter? You're getting ready to send little mini potty to get killed and you stopped speaking with your friends- what's next? Are you going to ignore everyone and allow the Death Eaters to murder us all?" Percy whipped around, causing my hold on his arm to fall away. In one fluid motion, he dropped his bag to the floor, knocked his glasses more securely into his face, and was in front of Malfoy. Percy glowered down at him as I picked up my twin's bag in resignation. "Never speak like that around me again Malfoy. You wouldn't know what selfless was even if it slapped you in the face. Harry has repeatedly put his life on the line to save everyone here at Hogwarts, and unfortunately, not all of us realize that. He has shown his worth, and now that I am free from my past duties, I will finish the job for him, as his protector and closest friend." Draco narrowed his eyes, taking a small step forward. "Why though? Is Harry blackmailing you?" Percy scowled harder and pulled out his pen, twirling it between his fingers in agitation. I took a step forward as well and cut off Percy before he could retort. "Why are you so interested, Ferret?" A light blush dusted Malfoy's cheeks as he backed up. "I-I just hate how you always use others as a shield! Be dignified and responsible for your actions. Don't throw away others' lives just so you may live another day." I raised an eyebrow, brushing off the comment. "What's wrong with you Malfoy? Since when do you care about others?" Draco scowled as his face flamed wildly and he threw a Bat Bogey Hex, before retreating through the students without looking back. I barely caught a glimpse of him before Perce was in front of me and blocked the curse with his chest. Many people gasped, but I gave a small smirk and turned around to leave. "Mr. Jackson, would you please step inside? I'd like to talk to you." I noticed Percy give an imperceptible wince and he cast a quick glance at me. I'll tell McGonagall you're with Slughorn, he'll probably just want to talk about your 'body shield'. I cast him a warning glance and he smirked cheekily before turning to our potions teacher. "Of course Professor." The students, knowing the fight was over, started whispering about what happened and giggling to themselves. I shook my head in disgust and watched as Professor Slughorn moved aside to let Percy into his office before closeing the door, before I began walking to the Transfiguration classroom. Quickly seating myself near the back, I placed Percy's satchel in the chair next to mine and grabbed my needed stuff out of my bag, pretending to be reading while I slipped into the back of Percy's mind. I only saw an intrigued expression on Slughorn's face before I was jerked back to my own mind when Weasley pushed Percy's stuff to the floor and pulled out the chair, making a terrible scraping sound. I grimaced at the sound and the person, closing my book. "Yes Ronald?" My icy glare settled on Ron's face, and I could see wariness and pity easily in the shallows. "It's alright Harry, you don't have to be afraid. What's that death eater done to you?" I snarled at him, ignoring his question. He would never learn, and it would be the end of our so-called 'friendship'. "Come on Harry, you're acting more like that greasy old dungeon bat. What's the matter?" I couldn't ignore that, after what Professor Snape did for me, I couldn't allow his memory to be tarnished. "You listen here, Weasley." I spat, causing Ron to recoil in his seat. "Severus Snape was the bravest man any of us could have ever known. Do you know what he did?" Ron scowled, but shook his head. "Of course not. He tried to stop Quirrell in our first year, but was attacked by Fluffy. He was casting the counter-curse to my broom during my first quidditch game, but Hermione lit him on fire. Snape saved us from being bitten by Lupin in our third. He stopped us from nearly killing ourselves in potions multiple times. He helped bring you up to the Infirmary to treat your broken leg. He ignored the fact that I stole his gillyweed during the second task. Snape helped us when we were battling the death eaters at the Ministry. He did so many things to protect me- us- everyone! He was a selfless man that threw himself in the way of Voldemort to protect those that were innocent. He died for helping Dumbledore. I will not let his memory be destroyed by you." I hissed at Ron, fury in my eyes. I grabbed all of the stuff on the table plus Percy's stuff on the floor and walked to another table near a window, setting everything the way I had it before. Professor McGonagall stepped through her connecting office's door and nodded at me. "Ten points to Gryffindor for standing up to someone for a dead warrior's memory." I gave a small smile, but reclined in my chair, wishing I could slip back into Percy's mind.
