I am so sorry to any confused readers that have made it this far in the book. I forgot that Snape died in the movie and have thus removed him from the storyline, replacing him with Mr. Slughorn. If you wish to go back and read it as it now is, be my guest. I just wanted to let everyone know so that nothing was confused.
Harry and I waited silently as Headmistress McGonagall finished her meeting with Professor Slughorn. Apparently, one of the kids blew up their cauldron and he did not want to lend one to the 'dangerous freeloader'. "He needs to be more like that Percy fellow. He perfectly finished every potion and never so much as left a spec of dust in his wake." I grimaced, remembering how easy it was to do the spells correctly with Harry's book and my wizard knowledge. Harry rubbed my shoulder, a concerned look on his face. I offered him a small smile. "Yes, well. I would think that Mr. Malfoy would be able to fix his behavior after a talking to by Mr. Filtch." My eyes widened slightly and I actually felt sorry for Draco. I then tuned out what they were saying and hugged Harry to my back until Mr. Slughorn walked out. We didn't need to be accused of spying. Mr. Slughorn looked a little startled, but then laughed to cover up. "Ahh, Percy, my boy. How are you?" I faked a smile. "I'm good, but I am here to speak to Headmistress McGonagall about my schedule. How are you?" Mr. Slughorn stepped to the side. "Oh, that's great to hear! I'm doing fine, well, as good as a Potions Master can, but don't let me hinder you. I just finished a meeting with the Headmistress, I'm sure she can see you now." I nodded and walked past him, Harry following me. "Oh Harry! I almost didn't see you there lad. Were you hiding?" Ha, you're short. Harry glared at me with a hint of mirth and then turned around with a forced chuckle, a fake smile on his face. "No Professor, I was just waiting." Mr. Slughorn then smiled and shook his head. "Ok then, don't keep Mrs. McGonagall waiting my boys." I pulled Harry back and nodded solemnly to him. "Thank you Professor." I gently shut the door and turned towards McGonagall. She was standing behind her desk, pointed hat standing proudly on her head. A quick glance told me that the sorting hat was sitting in its usual spot on a shelf not too far away, a Phoenix, Fawkes, was sitting in its cage next to the desk, all of the paintings were wither watching our little meeting or chatting amongst themselves, and a few books from the library were flapping around. "Yes, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Potter?" I winced slightly, but kept my face emotionless. "Headmistress, I would like to make a request to change my schedule to fit that of Harry's." Professor looked me over once, and then shook her head. "No. We do not allow students to change their schedules. Whatever you have been given is what we deem appropriate from your behaviors." I turned my indifferent but cold gaze on her. "Why would I then be put in different classes than Harry?" Mrs. McGonagall looked thoughtful for a second, but then it hardened. "That is confidential information, Mr. Jackson." I took one last stab at it before I resorted to my magic. After all, three strikes and your out, except it'll be the Headmistress that walks off the base. "Didn't the Sorting Hat say that it was important for Harry and I to stick together? Why would you go against it's words?" Professor McGonagall took a quick glance at the sleeping Sorting Hat and then back to me. "Maybe I would be inclined to change your schedule if you showed me the reason behind that." I smirked at her, but worried on the inside. Percy, what are you going to do? "You are very cunning for a Gryffindor, Headmistress McGonagall." I'm going to wing it. "Yes, well, what is your answer, Mr. Jackson?" Then the Sorting Hat's words came back to me. "As you know Headmistress, I have lead two wars. Harry here, lead one, but he is suffering emotions I have also tried to push away. We are both scarred from the pasts we were pushed into and now we need to heal. It is obvious that no one can help us, so we have stuck together. So now I ask you, Headmistress McGonagall, would you pull two kindred spirits apart?" She looked like she was remembering something, most likely the Sorting, and then nodded her head slowly. "Alright. I understand Mr. Jackson, but if I get one notice of you disrupting a class, you shan't have any classes with Mr. Potter." I nodded gravely. "Your warning has been received, Headmistress. Goodbye, and have a blessed evening." I turned to leave, and Harry turned with me. I walked through the door first, Harry behind, and down the stair case, until we walked out of the griffin door. Harry jumped on my back, tears in his eyes. Every time you bring those up I can't help but feel terrible Perce. Why did you have to go through that? I smiled at Harry sadly and stroked his hair. I went through it so I could get back to you, so I could survive Hazza. It is good to know you care, no one else has comforted me with such words before. Tears spilled over in Harry's eyes and I cloaked us with invisibility. It's ok, no one can see us. Let it all out Harbear. I'm right here, we're safe, we're together, and nothing is going to change that. Harry looked up at me with tear tracks on his cheeks. Promise? I finally was able to see past the walls in Harry's guard and the insecurity of a child was clear. I was filled with guilt. Forever, Harry. There is no need to worry, I will never leave.
