It was honestly even worse. I looked down in shame while Harry patted my back awkwardly. I trudged to our next class, thinking of what just went down.
~Flashback~
I walked into class with Harry and saw all of the tables and decorations. I internally cringed but kept my face blank. I think the pressure was getting to Harry because he turned on his heel, tugging on my robes. "C'mon Perce. Let's get out of here." I chuckled quietly and scooped Harry up. He tried to get out of my hold, but I started walking. I figured we could just sit anywhere so I sat in the back near a corner of the attic and set Harry down next to him, sending him a small smile. "It can't be that bad." I sat back, letting my eyes close a tiny bit and listened as people began to shuffle in and get ready. I suddenly heard a swish of beads and opened my eyes. A lady with wild frizzy hair, worse than Hazel's, and really thick glasses walked in looking cheery. "Hello class! I'm Madam Trelawney, your divination teacher. Let's start with our first lesson, shall we?" The class just groaned as I watched her intently. Something about her was bothering me, and at first, I thought she was a monster. She couldn't be though, they are too scared of immortals to come near. So she must be something else, definitely not a satyr, nereid, or nymph. She c- "Alright. Would everyone please gather around? I have a new set of tarot cards and I would like to show all of you what it is like to use them." We all stood up and gathered around her while Harry stood behind me, almost.... hiding. I looked at him with an eyebrow raised. He glared at me. Just relax. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. You say that now..... I looked back to see Professor Trelawney bringing out a set of tarot cards and another feeling washed over me, but this was one of belonging. Along with the sense of dread, it created a queasy feeling in my stomach, but I pushed it aside. "Would anyone want to volunteer to have their cards read?" Harry and I stepped back a bit, but a Slytherin had a different thought. He elbowed me in the side and stepped forward. "Percy would like to, Professor." I looked at the kid and realized that this was Draco. "Malfoy." It slipped out of my mouth, quiet and harsh. He flinched but smirked at me. "Well, thank you Mr. Jackson! I always knew you would be a special one. Come, come, sit down." I sat down gracefully and silently, feeling everyone's stare on me. I relaxed back in the chair and Mrs. Trelawney looked at me with interest. "Do you know how to use tarot cards, young man?" I started to shake my head, by then corrected myself. "Yes. I have no experience, but I have seen others in action and possess the ability to see prophecies as well." Everyone but Harry looked at me, wide-eyed. "Well, would you like to show us?" I nodded, smiling. I went to grab the cards, but before I could, I saw a golden mist start to appear in the room. I looked around and saw everyone slowly backing away from us. I closed my eyes and they were forced open in the direction of Professor Trelawney. Her eyes were glassy and you could see a slight green light coming from them. "Approach Seeker, and ask." I don't know why, but in a raspy voice I knew all to well, I replied, "Thou who asks, recipient of many tasks." Professor Trelawney nodded her head. "The impressed will forget the blessed. Any secret remains within the set. Thou shan't forget." I understood her perfectly. "''Tis time thee go, morals be low." Mrs. Trelawney shook her head. "Thou shall only plead when thou is in need." My head went down and a tear leaked from my eye. "Then let thee toll one last ding, to find the soul that has no ring." Trelawney shook her head, staring blankly at me. "''Tis not thou that duty rests, thou other half face many tests." I looked down, a gently sob raking my body. "''Tis time thee flip the cards of future, fore now it seems no sign for sitter." Trelawney nodded and pushed the pile of tarot cards closer. In my trance like state I grabbed the pile and gently shuffled through them all, feeding my energy into each card as it went. I laid down The Magician, meaning that I felt a sense of purpose. I believe that I can successfully think on my feet and get things done. I then pulled out Strength, meaning that I want strength the most right now. It means that I want the strength and willpower to finish what I started and achieve my goal. Though it also means that I must cast away my fears and aggressions. Next was The Hermit. My worry is that I will be alone. I shouldn't get to stressed or make hasty decisions for advice. As the forth, I laid down The Moon. It shows that I am fearful of what is to come and that everything will eventually work out, though wether or not in my favor, is questionable. Then, The Wheel Of Fortune made its way onto the table. Of course the Fates would be in my tarot reading. It says that I will or already have bad luck. Choices and important decisions weigh heavily upon me and that I must trust my intuition, even if it will cause me pain. Finally, as my last card, The Star is shown. It means that even with my bad luck, some good will come my way, most likely after a period of terrible pain and misery. So overall, not a very good reading. I winced and quickly collected the cards and put them in a pile again. I slowly sat up and blinked as the fog slowly diminished. I say Mrs. Trelawney awake to. She saw the deck next to my hands and looked at me oddly. "Dear me, it seems I blanked out during your reading, oh well. Class, did you get an accurate look at what a tarot card reading is?" The whole class nodded in unison, but I could tell they were all terrified and stiff in fear. I took a quick glance at my watch. "Professor Trelawney, it seems that class is almost over. Are we allowed to be excused?" She looked over at me and then at a watch on her own wrist. Her eyes got big. "Why of course! I'm sorry for not being able to dole out the lesson plans for today, it seems we ran a little behind schedule. We will go over it next time then. Goodbye class!" We all quickly gathered our stuff, everyone avoiding me while Harry just looked at me sadly. We all walked down the ladder in different intervals to escape the danger that is Trelawney.
~Flashback Over~
I winced remembering the moment. "It's ok Perce. Something strange about you was going to come out one way or another." I nodded my head, flashing Harry a sad smile as we rounded the corner to Harry's next class. That reminds me, I need to take that schedule change up with Headmistress McGonagall.
