"Does anyone know where Mr. Jackson is?" I smiled at the look in Professor McGonagall's be-speckled eyes as I raised my hand. "Yes, Mrs. McGonagall, Professor Slughorn asked him to stay after class to talk to him." She raised her eyebrow in challenge, but I was always one of her favorite students. "Alright. Now class, today we're going to continue with our last lesson. What is the number one rule in human transfiguration?" Hermione's hand shot up in the air per usual. Her need to show off had never lessened throughout our years here. I guess I never really noticed it till now... "Yes, Ms. Granger?" A spark seemed to shine dangerously in Hermione's eyes as she put her hand down. "The number one rule of human transfiguration is to never preform the spell on someone unwilling or unprepared. But Headmistress McGonagall, shouldn't there also be a clause that this branch of transfiguration cannot be used for misleading others?" I caught her point quickly, and gave her a glare. Percy was not transfigured to look like me, but nice try. I rolled my eyes when she glanced at me and I continued to look towards Mrs. McGonagall, who seemed a little shocked to see Hermione ask such a question. "Why, Ms. Granger, that would be quite preposterous, as that spell is used quite normally in the Auror Corps. How do you think our men can infiltrate the best of groups?" Quite a few Slytherins jeered at Hermione as the girl seemed to stiffen. "I had assumed that the Aurors wore glamours." Professor McGonagall crossed her arms and stepped in front of her desk, towering over most of us with her stern glare and extreme bun. "Ms. Granger, where is this behavior coming from? You know as well as I that glamours take constant magic to be held up and when behind enemy lines, our spies need as big a magical reserve as they can get in chance of a dangerous situation." A dark look descended on Hermione's face, but she did not respond. The headmistress cast a concerned look at Hermione, but decided to carry on with the lesson. We would only be going over the theory for the next few days, but I really wanted to see if I could morph wings onto my back. Flying on a broom has always been immensely enjoyable, but flying self-supported... that'd be like a whole nother level. Plus, then Percy and I could fly tog- My thoughts were interrupted by the very twin I was thinking of walking into the classroom with a slightly worried gate. "Ah, Mr. Jackson, how nice of you to join us. Care to explain why you are so late?" Percy sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and I silently chuckled at his display. "Sorry Mrs. McGonagall, I was with Professor Slughorn as he had a few questions for me. He let me go a while later, but then I was stopped by Sir Nicholas. I tired to make it here as quickly as I could without seeming rude." The Headmistress hummed to let us all know she would be checking with the man and the ghost later. "Alright then Mr. Jackson, please take a seat so I may continue with my lesson." Percy bobbed his head with an easygoing smile as he walked over to me, gently moving our stuff so he could sit down. Did I miss anything? Not really, Hermione and Ron were just being idiots. But what happened with Slughorn and Nick? I told Slughorn I create spells, but didn't have it fully developed yet. He then forgot I was here and started plotting ways to use it for his advantage. Hm, I didn't think he was that manipulating. You'd be surprised. I gave a soft hum, deep in thought, as Percy paid half-attention to the Headmistress' lecture. So why did Nick stop you? Oh, I had forgotten to contact Hades. You can just 'contact' the Lord of the Dead? Well, yeah, I just have to use some mist and a drachma. What's a drachma? I'll show you later, it's basically just a large gold coin. Why did you have to contact Lord Hades though? I needed to ask him if the ghosts here could stay. He only said that the poltergeist had to go down. Peeves? That's perfect, everyone hates him. I'd figured you'd like it. I felt touched that my twin would get rid of the troublesome pest for me. He almost got me in trouble so many times... It's what big bros are suppose to do. Percy slung an arm over my shoulders and pulled me a little bit closer, smiling down at me. I smiled back, but quickly looked back to Mrs. McGonagall so she would still believe we were actually paying attention. "Now I want a two-foot essay on my desk by next class period. If it is late then I will give you an immediate fail- no ifs, ands, or buts." A small groan escaped my lips as I leaned back in my chair, disjointedly watching Percy chuckle and stand, packing our stuff up and onto his shoulders. "Come on Harry, we only have charms before lunch." A small groan escaped my lips as I was finally spurred to stand up by Percy's baby seal eyes. A smirk fell onto my twin's lips as he lead me to Professor Flitwick's advanced charms class two floors up. We got there in record timing and sat down near the back of the class while I decided to test some of the techniques Percy was teaching me. Slowing my breathing and closing my eyes, I focused on trying to hear my heartbeat. I couldn't quite hear it yet, my mind would continuously give me false beats- making me hear random 'lub-dub's. Perce said it was a great way to connect to your magical core, and I want to be able to pursue wandless magic a bit farther than my range right now which is only a silent lumos. Little did I know, Percy was arguing with Zeus in his head the whole time. He didn't want to leave for another job just yet.
