John sent me a text a half an hour later saying Amanda was home. Sighing I kind of wanted to stay at the pond longer. Being here really helped me relax and clear my head. My time at the pond helped me come up with a plan with how to deal with this Sophia situation.

On the ride back Midnight and I took our time, turning what is usually a ten-minute run into a 40-minute walk. When Midnight and I got back to the house we found Amanda sitting outside with Alicia.

"You should be resting." Amanda said and walked closer to us, Cassie barked next to her as if to agree with her.

"I took a nap before and a shower, I'm good now. I needed to clear my head for a little bit and I haven't taken him out in a long time." I answered.

"Do you think we should raise Alicia to be an equestrian?" Amanda asked looking at Alicia's wide eyes staring at Midnight.

I only smiled before hopping off Midnight. He walked closer to Amanda happy to see her and Alicia smiled with a delight.

"How was the doctor?" I asked and took Alicia from my wife.

"Good, Alicia is doing good and she didn't really cry when she got her first set of shots." Amanda recapped.

"That's great to hear." I said and brought Alicia closer to the curious horse.

Midnight titled his head towards our little girl and nudged her hand. Alicia giggled at the horses movements and placed her hand on Midnights nose again. This time the horse didn't move. In that moment I could tell a bond was being formed between the two. Amanda took Alicia back inside after that while I cleaned Midnight off. Once he was cleaned up and inside his stall I rejoined my family inside.

When I went inside I found Amanda sitting on the couch reading a book while Alicia is in her crib. The rest of the day we spent relaxing. Isabella came over a little while later and played with Alicia. As the sun started to set Luke and John came by for dinner.

Isabella cooked for us again and we all had a good night. Towards the end of the night I pulled Luke outside onto the front porch with me.

"What's up Scar? John said you weren't feeling well this morning?" Luke said.

"Yea I was, I had a lot on my mind. But I have to talk to you about something." I said.

"Sure what is it?" Luke asked as we sat down on the stairs.

"I know you are closer to Joe than John is and I need some information." I said.

"Okay? What do you want to know?" Luke said.

"How close are Joe and my mom?" I asked.

"Define close?" Luke asked skirting around the question.

"Are they fucking? Are they romantically together?" I asked getting to the point.

Luke, who was playing with his lighter dropped it on the stairs and looked at me. Something flashed before Luke's eyes, hurt maybe I don't know.

"You don't know do you?" Luke asked.

"Know what?" I almost growled.

"Veronica, they have been together for the last three years. Fuck, Isabella put her house on the market and moved in with him a few months ago." Luke answered.
