Open Day

Today is the open day at the hospital and school of rock is playing the headline act I'm so happy we don't have to be a secret anymore the best part is that my foster parents are actually coming to watch us which is Something my other parents never did I'm so happy I feel lik I finally getting a chance to have a normal life.

Tomika PoV

I woke up this morning happier than usual so I took my pills and wrote in my diary then placed it in my top drawer and walked into the bathroom had a shower and brushed my teeth then got changed into this

And did my hair like this

Then Mr Finn and the band arrived with the band stuff and we started practising. We sing good girls by 5 seconds of summer first

And I think principle Mullins is coming because she's not seen us play yet so she wants to see how good we are.

We practised for like 2 hours

Freddie PoV

We started setting up the stage for our performance. We were so excited and Tomika looked beautiful and so much happier. She always chats with everybody she has one man on floor 5 who has a bad heart condition and he's like 75 years old but every other day she takes time to see him and talk to him. You see she tells me nobody visits him he has no family in America anymore so she goes and sees him to make him happy. And the nurse says its helps them both. She's so cute.
Today I was wearing some black jeans and a white t-shirt  and my converse. We started to set up equipment. I was setting up my drums

Summer PoV
Time skip to 4.00pm

Some of the patients were arriving and Tomikas friend from floor five was coming she went up to fetch him. While Tomika was bringing him down her foster parents and principle Mullins arrived and when she sat her friend down she ran up to her foster parents and gave them a hug and talked with them for a bit.

Tomika PoV
After I finished talking to my foster parents I went to the band and we went backstage to get ready as we were going on last.
There were five acts before us. One was a singer and another juggled and another couple of acts and then it was our turn I was so nervous but while everybody else was taking further back stage Freddie came up to me.

T: hey Freddie
F: hey T
T: are you nervous
F: no we have the best singer and bassist in the whole of Austin.
T: I don't think I'm the best
F: you are trust me *kisses Tomika on cheek* walks off

Omg Freddie kissed me I feel less nervous.
S: Tomika you ready Tomika Tomika Tomika
F: erhh sorry yeah fine
S: let's go

We performed our four songs and principle Mullins came up to us at the end
PM: well done kids I think you can be our schools band and go to competitions and play school dances and the quad once a month. Tomika we look forward to seeing you at school after Christmas.
T: thank you
S: yay we nailed it
F: definitely
T: I'm so happy yay. Hey guys I'm going to speak to my foster parents

T: hey guys
C: Tomika you and the band were great
B: yeah you looked like you were having fun up there
T: I am I love the band we have so much fun together. I wish I could go home now.
B: hey Tomika it's ok you'll be leaving soon
T: I know but I know I want to leave now I'm so much better.
C: hey why don't we see if you and the band can stay the night for a trail run then maybe see if at the weekend you can come and start to adjusting to our life and living with us so by Christmas you can be ready to live with us and we get to know you more and get used to your tablets and medication and you.
T: really
B: yeah
T: yay thanks guys your the best.
FF: it's alright.
T: I'm going to tell the guys
C: ok well go speak to the doctor

Thinking to herself.
Goes to the nurse
T: can I ask you a question
N: of course you can Tomika that's why I'm here
T: how do I volunteer to help the patients and especially my friend on floor five. When I get out of here I want to help the people who are here permanently cause they can't just get up and go out like me and I think it will help me with my instinct to care.
N: well Tomika you really are improving and you've been my favourite patient your so strong and determined to get better and do it quickly and you care about others more than yourself because if your hurt and somebody else is then you always think of the other person first and you really are growing in to a amazing young woman.
And you can sign up tomorrow for after xmas when you love with your family but for now how about you help anybody on floor five while your here.
T: ok thanks. You've really helped me
N: that's my job

I see Tomika coming over here the happiest she's ever been.
S: hey Tomika you ok
T: yeah never better I just signed up for volunteer work on floor five after xmas when I get out.
I think I might actually miss this place.
F: that's great T
T: yeah and my foster parents said there going to see if I come and sleepover at my new house every weekend before i leave and you all can come round tonight for a sleepover because we did so good.
Z: that's so good. Well done T
T: thanks Im So happy

Super long chapter the next one will be Freddie and tomikas walk back to Tomikas room then the sleepover
