Friday morning came too quickly. I checked the time and wasn't surprised to see it read 8:30 am. I immediately got up and started to get ready for the day.
I headed for the office right after breakfast. Surprise hit me right after the feeling of anticipation and anxiety washed over me. I hadn't felt eagerness in a while, why now? Ever since he walked out of my life, all feelings of positivity had been snuffed out. This once normal feeling now foreign scared the daylights out of me.
I got to the library and saw that Robby's van was already parked just outside the gate to the library. I stifled the smile that threatened to break out when I saw the child like drawing on the sides of the van.
"Morning," I called out.
"Morning ma'am. How are ya dis morn'n?" A voice which I assumed belonged to Robby. I came around to the passenger's side where Robby stood munching on a protein bar.
"Ah need de energy, ya see?"
"Yes, Robby, I know." I leaned against the truck and surveyed Robby's area. "Are you going to be able to do this on your own, I mean, you need help, don't you?"
"The son's a sleepin' in the van. He'll help me wif it."
"Okay, that's good. How much do I have to pay you?" I squinted at him, watching as he continuously chewed his protein bar, a bar that I was sure was no longer existent in his mouth.
"I charge $50 per hour."
"We can work with that," I said as I walked inside. I had to get started on a few things before Jessica and her friends came.

That there was a main office for the library didn't come as a surprise to me— Aunt Enny liked professional.
To the right of the office was a window that overlooked the rows of houses by it's side. I could view the activities taking place in the compound of about two or three houses. The center of the room had a huge mahogany desk that needed to be replaced, along with the chair.
The walls needed to be repainted a neutral color, perhaps a cream and white color, anything but the dusty pink that covered the walls now. Carpets were also needed. Windows simply needed to be cleaned, then I'd start to bring in the other things—a computer, air conditioner, dustbin—that were needed.
For now though, I needed to sort out the things that sat in the floor-to-ceiling cabinet just behind the desk.

How do you find this chapter? It's showing you how Anne's mind works, which is how my mind works at times. Some of Anne's character is mine, I can relate to her on some things, can you?
Hopefully, there's something better for us in store.
Let's do a little something: How would you rate this chapter on a scale of 1-5, 1 (really good); 2 (good); 3 (meh); 4(bad) and 5(really bad).
