Mom looked at Luce and her eyes widened. "Layla?" She closed her book and got up.
Luce shook her head. "Sorry, no. She's my mother.. She.. " She took a deep breath. "Passed away when I was little." Luce looked at the ground.
"You look so much like Layla. You two would've looked like twins." Mom giggled lightly. "So, Natsu.. Is she your... Girlfriend?"
Mine and Luce's faces turned red. "N-no, Mom. She-she's my friend. Not girlfriend."
"Aw.. What a shame. Well, anyway.. Lucy, thank you for being a friend of Natsu's. He only had one but, now he finally has gained another friend. Though he's popular, he doesn't really have much friends like most popular kids have. He doesn't really have much friends because, he can't really trust anyone. So, thank you." She bowed.
Luce bows back. "It's my pleasure. Natsu is very kind and I am really happy to have someone like him as friend. Cuz, well.. At my other school, people pretended to be my friend and only used me for my family's money. Also, I can see why Natsu doesn't really trust anyone. If he were to trust someone, there is a high chance that they are only going to use him for money or has a plan to hurt him. But don't worry, I won't hurt him or use him for money. I wouldn't want to lose my first actual friend - besides Levy. And plus, I already have enough money of my own." Luce and mom smile at each other. I was kind of surprised. Luce got the whole reason why I didn't trust people, - correct.
My mom comes over to me and whispers my ear, "Be careful, Natsu. She's a good catch. Don't mess up. If you do, she's gone." She walked pass me and up the stairs. I knew what she meant. She thinks that me and Luce will end up together - which I doubt. Sure she's cute....Nice... and my type... ACK! Natsu! Stop it! Although, I do have to be careful, like mom said.
I wanted Luce to meet my little sis so I called her down. "Wendy!" I called for my sister to come down stairs. We waited a few moments until a little girl with blue hair in pigtails, a colorful polka dot dress on, came down stairs.
"What do you - IS SHE THAT FRIEND YOU ASKED TO COME OVER? She's so pretty! I wouldn't be surprised if she was actually your girlfriend." She smirked.
"Wendy! She's not-!"
"Oh, hush! You guys are going to end up together soon! Trust me and my gut, we're geniuses. Plus, you two look good together." Luce sat there with a blank face and all the color drained out of it. Wendy turns to face Luce. "Anyhoo, what's your name?"
"It's Lucy." Luce regained color.
Wendy cocked her head to a side. "Can I call you Lucy-nee?
"Yeah sure.." She replied. "But, why exactly?"
Wendy's smirk was plastered onto her face like her face was stuck like that. "Well duh, you and Natsu will get married in the future, obviously." She rolled her eyes.
