Kait POV

**********

"Kait!" I heard Cory and Melanie yell as I jumped over the edge of the mountain.

Then, it all was over. I felt myself flying into a free fall that ended with a sudden, sharp stop into the rocky mountainside.

"He's not dead?" I barely whispered as I lie there, nearly as battered and bloody as I last saw Cory.

I had nothing better to do, so I just laid there, letting myself slowly die. It could have been hours, days, weeks, I couldn't tell. I was holding onto my life by threads when I heard voices. I saw a bright light and I was walking towards a tunnel when suddenly I heard a voice shout "Go back! Go back!". I heard my name being called by two familiar voices, but my brain didn't recognize whose they were. I opened my eyes slowly to find two people staring at me.

"Melanie? Cory? What happened? I thought he was dead." I said, very slow and painfully.

"He was about as close to dead as you are now. I managed to heal him after you ran out in tears." Melanie said, in tears herself.

"I'm just so glad you're okay." I told Cory.

"Rosa, I'm going to try to heal you now." Melanie said.

"You don't have to. I can't let you use that much Spirit in one day. I know how much it takes out of you. Just get me to a hospital. Preferably the one I work at." I said.

"Rosa, I changed Cory. It was the only way to heal him completely. I hope you don't mind." Melanie said.

"Just as long as that makes him less vulnerable to the wrath of my ex husband." I said, chuckling.

"Come on, Rosa. Let's lift you up and get you to a hospital." She said, grabbing my shoulders as Cory grabbed my legs.

When the got a firm hold onto me, they ran as fast as they could and made it to Ohio in six hours, half the time I made it to Colorado in. At the hospital, every employee I knew visited my room. I was especially touched when Dr. House visited and took on my case because he never really willingly did anything of those sorts.

"Welling, what were you thinking when you jumped off that mountain? You could have been killed." He half-yelled.

"That was the point. I thought my fiancé was dead and that my ex husband had killed him in some cruel attempt to win my love back. Right as I jumped, Melanie and Cory come and yell out my name. I didn't have time to stop myself, so I just let gravity take over." I said, taking a sip of the water the hospital gave me.

"I know we're busy, but I'll take on your case. The team and I will make sure you get the necessary medical attention." He said.

"Only Viu know Viu bodies better than you do. I guess I trust you and the team with my health." I said, reluctantly.

"Thank you."

"House! There you are! Oh my god. Welling. What happened?" Dr. Cameron said.

"She jumped off a mountain." Melanie said.

"Why? You could have been killed!" She said.

"She wanted to die. Her ex husband beat and almost killed her fiancé. She thought he was dead and felt it was necessary to join him." Melanie said.

"But, House, why are you here? you never willingly visit people." Cameron said.

"We're taking on her case. I suggest you tell Chase and Foreman." He said.

"What is there to take on? She jumped off a cliff and almost died. How is this up your alley?"

"It's not. She obviously came here for a reason considering she jumped off a mountain in Colorado, so now I'm determined to find out why she jumped and why she came here of all places."

"So you're treating this like a game, House?! This isn't a game! This is my health! I'll heal almost completely in a few days. There's no underlying condition with me like your other cases! I want to talk to Cuddy about this. This is stupid. I appreciate the concern, but this needs to be talked over with higher authority." I said.

"Fine. Cameron, go find Cuddy." House said.

Roughly ten minutes later, in pranced Dr. Cuddy, going bat-shit crazy over the face that I jumped and that House wanted to take on my case.

"Before we get down to business, Welling, what the hell happened to you?" she said.

"You don't read the case files? Why does everyone ask me this. I jumped off a mountain."

"Okay, I won't ask about that anymore. House, why on earth are you so interested in Dr. Welling's case? She'll heal up in a few days, given the proper treatment, and then she'll be out of here until she has the time to come back and work rather than be a patient." She said.

Just then, I blinked and it all was gone. I looked directly in front of me to find the same blue sky above me and that cold, rocky cliff below.
